What I was saying is he was being held prisoner for 6 months. Why didn't he mention his son? It was almost as if he forgot all about Daniel during Saw 4. I will say that I felt very, very bad for Detective Matthews when they showed his flashbacks. Like I said he got locked in the bathroom, bashed/broke his foot to escape, fought Amanda and got kicked in the broken foot, and then was put in a prison cell like an animal. If any character deserved a better ending it was him.

So let's see if I got this right. The events of Saw IV were happening during Saw III? So when Jigsaw told Jeff "I could have an ambulance here in four minutes. He literally meant he could have help there in the form of that FBI Agent? Detective Matthews and Hoffman were outside the room the entire time Amanda was being tested as well?

I dont think Daniel was a big issue for mattews in this,he was in survival mode and after 6months of being held hostage he just didnt give a crap anymore. I actually liked the ending for matthews,though I agree to some extent I would of liked to see him live.

Yup, I really liked that part of the two movies actually going simualtaniously.It was well done.

I wanted to see more of what happened to Jeffs kid,I hope they finish that part off in sawV. I was slightly disappointed in the Jeff story not being finished,until i saw how it ended

Far as ending I was to say slightly disappointed when Hoffman got up as the new saw,it didnt have the same impact as when John got up off the floor in Saw..I hope hes just a apprentice still and not the actuall new Jiggs.

he sort of has to be the new jigsaw, as who would he be apprentice to? Jigsaw is f**king dead

oh, the funniest part of the whole night with this was the Eye trailer...it was trying to be unique with it's whole visual only storytelling method, but when the story you're telling is "...and the eyes came from a killer and were evil!!!!" or whatever this movies done to death plot is, it just comes off as hillarious.

Also, people were literally laughing at the Rambo trailer.

lol. There were some pretty outrageous reactions to the Rambo trailer in theaters yesterday...

Oh, and how sick was that autopsy scene? Everytime I peeked into a crowded Saw IV theater at work, I liked listening to the audience's reactions...lol. It wasn't really the scene itself, but the sound of the friggin' cutting and slicing.

..and also, most of the time, the audience claps after the first "game" before the opening credits with the lawyer.

the big guy in the beginning trap was seen briefly in the scene where cecil gets slapped by gus (guy that got shot with magnum in saw2) and he was looking at jills butt i believe so that makes sense why he got his eyes sewn shut.
honestly tho i think the trap in the beginning with the blind n mute wasn't actually concurrent with the events of the main story of saw IV, i think that happened soon after cecil's trap. cuz you see the guy with the spine trap thats watching matthews has a huge healed scar on the side of his face, you dont' see that scar in his first test so i believe that there is a big gap between them chronologically.

Well, at our theater, they were combinations of:

I believe The Eye was attached to all prints of Saw IV, I'm not 100% sure.

Like most other things that you think look terrible and bash for the sake of bashing, the RAMBO trailer looks great.
I can't recall the last time that I read you say anything positive about any movie with your endless barrage of "this sucks," "what a piece of **** that was," and "that looks terrible" posts.

That got the biggest cheer reaction that I've ever seen to a trailer when I went to the SAW IV midnight show, it got a positive reaction last night too (and since todays ridiculously immature audiences even think rape and death scenes are funny half the time, I wouldn't take it as an insult to a film if people mocked the trailer).
It looks like a First Blood II rescue story with a very gritty war setting with First Blood's more serious and less over the top tone.

What's the point of Hoffman being an apprentice? I simply do not buy him just being a tool for Jigsaw. I think he's the new Jigsaw and that's one thing I do not care for. His character is not interesting enough to be the new Jigsaw.

Jigsaw (the real one) clearly told him on the tape that he would be tested as Hoffman stood there with a puzzled look on his face, trust me, there's another Jigsaw out there and Hoffman will most likely die in their game in SAW V.

What's your theory on Hoffman? Why do you think they chose him to be tested? The more I think about it, the more I believe you're right. He couldn't be Jigsaw since Riggs knows about him being involved.

I think he's probably power hungry and set up Amanda to fail so that he could take over...and now he thought that he was all set to be the new, and only Jigsaw only to find out that Jigsaw had someone else lined up that even he didn't know about.

Same here. Saw does it different for me. It's got the twists and a proper story to be 'torture porn'. Hostel pt 2 was more of a torture porn to me as it's story was pointless and the gore was there just for the sake of it.

Anyone that thinks that SAW is first and foremost about torture is completely missing the point, though SAW IV is the weakest of the series thematically.

I thought Hostel II decent and the first was terrible personally.
