The Official Serenity Thread! (Make no more)

Cool. Do you think buying up all the copies of Serenity from my home would make a difference? Not like I could afford that anyway..

It probably would, but i wouldnt recommend it if you dont have the money, LOL

Good to hear that. Keep the hope alive.

Any news of a director cut coming out at all, i would be extremely interested.

I haven't heard anything, but what else could be put in it? Not sure if I could take in another version of events when the first one was so good. I am open to it though.

I haven't heard anything, and I don't expect to for some time. Joss Whedon is currently writing the screenplay for Wonder Woman. I think that the earliest we could hear anything would be when he is finished with the script, right before he starts directing it. He might then mention if he (or someone else) will be doing another Serenity film after Wonder Woman.

He just finished the first draft of the WW script a few days ago, apparently. But he has another film he's working on as well, so he's going to probably be pretty busy for the next year or two.

Even if somewhere down the line he found time for this do you not think Joss has a nack for moving on fairly quickly from his projects? Will he ever return to this?

Firefly/Serenity is Joss's dream project. If he gets the shot, he will return.

That's cool. You know he came up with the idea of Firefly at season 3 of Buffy. So I guess that shows long term faith.

I certainly hope so, there is so much potential for this franchise its unbelievable. Imagine, we get a trilogy, with about 10 hours of back story from the T.V series also, that would be amazing, and i would not stop watching them.

Potential is right. Have you seen the action figures?

When I first saw Serenity's trailer, I thought of it to be another dumb sci-fi movie but to my surprise when I saw the dvd, I thought it was pretty good.
I'm now going to check out Firefly.

The main problem is finding someone who will give him that shot. Firefly is a cancelled TV series - after only what, 7 episodes? - Serenity was a bomb at the box office, and hardly a success on DVD, either. If I were a Hollywood Executive, I'd see no reason to want to pick up the series. Unless, y'know, it's the Sci-Fi channel or something.

I think it was more like 20 episodes. But yeah I see what you mean but stranger things have happened.

15 episodes, actually. Plus a few unaired scripts. Besides, it wouldn't be the first time something like this happened. The Naked Gun films were based on a TV show that was cancelled after about two or three episodes.

It was cancelled before all the episodes aired though, wasn't it? 7 or 9. Or am I thinking of some other show...

I think it was cancelled on the last shoot for the last episode at Christmas. The crews xmas party then became an end of Firefly party in stead.

Hello,
why don't make a crossover movie from title "RIDDIK VS RIVER" ?

Hi

Hello and welcome to the Hype. River owns Riddik and the movie would last 5 seconds if they had a fight...

I believe that there was one episode that they didn't get to air. Heart of Gold, it was called. Damn good episode, too.

I know in England they did not air the pilot which made no sense IMO.

15  ... I think I've missed a few. I can only recall about 11. Are all of these on DVD?
