The Official Serenity Thread! (Make no more)

Well its really 14 episodes, but Serenity, the pilot, is the length of two episodes so you could class it as 15. Heart Of Gold is a very good episode, with some good insights about Mal and Inara, and Mal finally gets some!!.

I felt really shocked when it cut to Inara crying in that episode, powerful stuff. After she knows Mal got some from her companion friend.

I know, i really thought at the end though Mal and Inara were gonna admit to each other how they feel, was quite shocked when Inara said what she said.

Still, the fun is in there with Jayne, ****es and Guns....lol

I'm starting to lean towards Jayne as my favourite character, he has so many great moments during the series and a few good ones in Serenity as well.

Always a good one.
Jayne in a airlock: "I got stupid the money was too good."

From Serenity.
Jayne: "Heck I've been to the edge. All I saw was more space."

and

Mal: "You wanna run this ship?"
Jayne: "YES!"
Mal: "Well....you can't"

My favourite line is from Serenity:

[after breaking into a practically empty bank safe]
Zoë: At last, we can retire and give up this life of crime.

Simon - 'River! River? Are you okay?'
River - 'I swallowed a bug.'

The best lines are near the end of the Firefly episode, Safe:

*Simon and River, who have been kidnapped by crazy religious hillfolk, are about to be burned at the stake because River's telepathy, in the eyes of the villaige, marks her as a witch. Suddenly, a huge light shines down fron Serenity, which is floating over the town. Jayne is hanging out of the ship with a sniper riffle, and Mal and Zoe walk up behind the crowd*

Mal: Got here just in time! What does that make us?

Zoe: Big damn heroes, sir!

Mal: Aren't we just?

*Mal stands in front of the croud*

Mal: Now, ya'll have something that belongs to us. We'd like if you'd give it back.

Townsperson: You cannot interfere with God's will!

Mal: See the man with the really big gun in the space ship uo there? Well, it's not that you were hard to find, but you were a bit out of our way, and he didn't want to come in the first place. He's looking to kill some folk, so really it's his will you better be worrying about. Cut 'er down.

Townsperson: That girl is a witch!

Mal: Yeah. But she's our witch.

*points his gun at the croud*

Mal: Cut 'er down.

Another good one:

Simon:'Its a safe word.........it puts her to sleep in case of an emergency......if i speak the words'
Jayne:(Jumping up out of his chair) 'Dont say it!'
Zoe:'It only works on her Jayne'
Jayne'Well now i know that' (Sits back down)

LOL great scene.

That is a good quote dude.
Also when Wash and Zoe walk in to see the freak show (baby cow in a jar) and Simon standing there.

Wash: "Oh my god it's hideous.......oh and there's something in a jar."

Thats a good one, along with the follow up "Do not fear me.....ours is a peaceful race...and...we must live in harmony."

My favorite episode of that show was the one where they broke into the hospital. Those guys with the sonic weapons were creepy.

"We applied the cortical electrodes but were unable to get a neural response."

That is a good one. But my favorite is split between The one where Serenity lost life support and the one where Niska caught up with Mal... I don't think it's hard to see that I absolutely love how well written Mal's character is.

The torture episode was also really good for Wash, too. My favorite part of the flashback episode would've been how they picked up Jayne.

"Hey, I tracked you here, didn't I?"
"Yeah... you did! How much are they payin' ya?"

Nice way to start the life support episode. Having Mal face plant the floor....

Oh, yeah, Wash came full circle that day. He had to overcome some "issues" by facing the truth about his feelings. Plus, he gained a brand new respect (by seeing exactly why his wife follows the man) for Mal. But the way it was handled was nothing less than sheer genius... shock therapy in fact(makes you wonder about some real doctors)

Mal read that situation perfectly, never had to fire a shot!

I was like... WTF!!! I love stories that "retred" the timeline to reveal the details. It's a personal favorite storytelling style of mine.

The spaceship (a Firefly class transport ship called Serenity) arrives – and it was a great entrance! Wash kindly informs the brawlers, “Every man there go back inside or we will blow a new crater in this little moon.”

In Bushwacked did you notice that Jayne was wearing a t-shirt that had a ‘Blue Sun’ motif on it? Cool huh....

One of the most original parts of this show was the hybrid of American and Chinese culture. You really believe that those two countries would be running the galaxy in 400 years :p

"Ohhh, I'm goin' to the special hell."

I think Out Of Gas is definately the best episode for getting into Mal's head, and it really shows how much he loves Serenity and the crew. The emotion at the end nearly has me in tears every time and its an episode that makes you laugh and cry all in one viewing.
