The Official Serenity Thread! (Make no more)

Every sci-fi fan should watch the entire TV series and the feature film.

Still my favorite show of all time.

Saw the film about a year ago. Really liked it.

Watched Firefly and and then rewatched Serenity. Loved it.

I want more of this ship and its wonderful crew :(

Just watching this on TV for the first time in ages and had forgot how unbelievably BRILLIANT this film is, action, drama, tension, love, emotion, the movie had absolutely everything a brilliant movie has. Not to mention some of THE most likable and funny characters ever created on screen.

It was an absolute crime we never got a franchise out of this, as it could have been the sci-fi series of the 21st century, in fact I know it would have been. Its hard to believe this was made for $39 million, and I am still just dying to know were the character would have gone next. The WHOLE cast were amazing in their roles, especially the crew, and they were aided superbly by Chiwetel Ejiofor as one of the best Sci-fi villains ever IMO.

Awesome, awesome movie, with a brilliant series before it also. It will be missed, but thankfully we have Firefly and Serenity to hold us over, just about.

I know, I wouldnt have even minded him returning in future installments as he was such a great character. Plenty of characters from the series could have returned as well, such a shame.

I just got Serenity for Christmas. How Nathan Fillion hasn't gotten more acting gigs becuase of it is beyond me. He could definitely do more action films.

i remember someone once said that nathan fillion was the newer harrison ford...

he really should be in more things cause alli know that he's been in recently has been drive and that housewives thing...

I love this movie so much, I am actually considering double-dipping the bluray version even though I already own the sweet collector's edition.

I'm watching this movie and asking myself one question: Why in the **** did I not watch this when it first came out!?!!? I love this movie. Amazingly fun to watch, the crew and it's interactions, the plot, etc. I haven't found one thing I don't like about it... I wanna watch firefly now. Question: when does the movie take place? Before/middle/ or after the series?? thanks!

serenity takes place after firefly...it's the over all ending that the series would ahve eventually gone to abuot 4 or 5 series in i'd assume...

If you enjoy the movie now, you are gonna enjoy it 100 TIMES more if you watch Firefly also. I know what you mean, I havent found one thing i dont like about it either, amazing series and amazing film.

I think I've mentioned this before in here, but when The Operative loses it when Mal shows up with the Reavers is probably my favorite moment in the entire film. Chiwetel is great in this, as is everyone else. One of my favorite movies.

The sequel should be more Western-esque. Bring me Badger, Saffron, Jubal Early and horses. Not that I did not like Serenity it'd just make it a bit different from the first film and bring back moe series characters.

Hoping for the same.

At this point, there are mentions every now and again, but nothing solid.

It's sort of in Arrested Development movie territory right now... as in everyone wants to do it, but there's absolutely no word on it. :hehe:

Really wish they would. It's great to have the comics every now and again, but the movie just left me wanting more. Then again the TV series did that as well.

Everyone wants more.... well, fans do. If only some studio had the guts to keep it going.

 He is superb in it, a great addition to a super cast, and that moment you mentioned is superb, its THE first and ONLY moment in the movie The Operative loses his cool, it just shows how feared The Reavers are/were in the verse.

I think there is a studio out there who would finance the movie, for around the same budget at least. But I dont think Joss is pursuing it as aggressively as he was the first movie, and to be honest you cant blame him, he had other stuff he wanted to do and used a lot of energy on the series and movie.

BUT, IMO, a studio out there would back a sequel.

PS: Does anyone know if the 2-disc special edition is coming out here in the UK?

He does remind me a lot of a young Harrison Ford, in both appearance and attitude. But maybe there isn't as much of a market for that type of character anymore?

^Possibly, but if there was any justice in the world, Fillion and the rest of the crew would make it big, as all are great actors.

So I've been hearing alot about this film and how good it is. Though it didn't appeal to me when I saw the previews. How good is it? Because I might just check it out.
