Welcome to the internet. Nobody cares.
You seem to care enough to make the comments in the first place.

Except that the film flopped :o

Wow, telling me to be a bigger man? Lame. Im not the one arguing over what the term 'FLOP' means.

The film flopped badly. Pitty, cause it was a good film.

Have fun with your denial though

Did the film make money after all revenue is accounted for?

Why would you debate post after post that the film didn't make money if it had nothing to do with your argument?

Why did you shift to this new focus only after it was proved that the film made money?

If your definition of flop didn't hinge on the fiscal success of the film, why spend any time addressing the subject?

Just let it go :down

You always revert back to "Let it go" when you don't have a good answer to a question. It's almost as sad as me bothering with this debate in the first place. I admit it...I am ashamed of myself for even being sucked into this childish ****...and being a child about it. I could blame it on a lot of stuff...but I can't lie...I enjoy stirring up ****. It's a guilty pleasure, and you have provided me a couple of hours of entertainment...so I owe you my gratitude kind sir.

The film was a flop. Its as simple as that.

I disagree...it wasn't a complete failure. It made the fans happy, it recieved glowing reviews from critics, and when all was said and done, it made money. It did underperform, and didn't meet expectations from the studio.

I would think a direct to DVD sequel, or a Sci-Fi channel project would be the ideal venue to explore.

There will never be another tv-series due to some wierd deal Uni. made with Fox to get the series.

Never say never...money talks. Deals can be renegotiated, contracts can be altered if all parties agree.

Even by your own logic, it made money but it wasn't huge, there's no need to go through all the trouble for something so modest, also Whedon seems to be moving on to bigger and better things and the movie itself had a pretty decent closure.

I agree...but if someone offered Universal enough money they would come to a deal of some sort. The liklihood of that happening is slim to none, but Sci-Fi channel has been known to throw good money after bad and resurect dead shows.

True True, but would Whedon return? I just say it because after Serenity the story seemed pretty closed to me.

He seems like he is reserved to the fate of Firefly, but I know he had a lot more planned for the franchise.

If that's the case I'm sure he'll return if he can, but only time will tell, maybe he'll take those ideas and recycle them into something new later on

Hi boys and odd, smooth, compellingly bumpy non-boys. I'm in Liverpool, on Alexis' lap... sorry, laptop, checking in and seeing all sorts of nonsense about a sequel to something. I did run into someone at Forbidden Planet, and he said something about that I ought to make more things, possibly art things, and I agreed. He didn't know the fellow I was with was Brian Hitch but it was 'cause I'm so, yeah, awesome. Yes, Warren and Natalie and Brian and I had dinner, after nattering on for SFX at the hotel (I like that mag) and it was blazingly fun. They're all three multitalented, urbane, and surprisingly sweet. I'm none of those things but I came the farthest so they had to be nice. BUT...

There's no sequel, no secret project regarding Serenity or somesuch and I'm not even sure how anyone thought there was talk there. I've seen Nathan and Tim (and Summer and Alan) recently because they're my friends because I'm so, yeah, awesome. So let's put that to bed and smother it with a pillow.

Fun fact: Didn't read the thread, but as for James playing Shinzon: that's the reason he left for darkest Africa at the end of season six. We were giving him the time off to do the film. When it didn't happen, the course was already set. But he got a nifty soul and that worked out okay.

Oh, and I heard Marvel pushed back X-Men 18? I've delivered 19, and Johnny's working steadily, so blame the marketplace. In fact, overturn the marketplace, the way Jesus did when he was cranky about that thing that time.

When the hell was Joss in LIVERPOOL!!!!!!!????????, I would have loved to meet him, bastard!!!!!

And thats a bummer about no Serenity sequel, if any movie deserves a sequel its Serenity!

If Deuce Bigalow, The Butterfly Effect, and dozens of other crappy movies can get a sequel, there's still hope for Serenity. If Whedon wanted to do it that is, which it seems he doesn't. For now.

^ just came out today!! go grab it Browncoats!!! i already did, and it's awesome stuff.

Its nice, and I will buy it, pretty much because Whedon has said the odds of a TV movie depend on it's sales...but I doubt much will come of it :(

I got it. It's like a box/double dvd holder. That is like a lid that opens then it's just a flip thing.

like he ^ said... it's super nice! shiny indeed...
