The Official Skip Bayless Sucks thread

Skip is on ESPN because he's controversial. He generates discussion because of the stupid **** he talks about.

I think he's on ESPN because of all his ties to the Cowboys. He was their beat writer for the championship run in the 90's.

He is on ESPN for both of what you guys said. He is entertaining whether you like him or not you got to admit it. Like when Stephan A makes his facial expressions and his ''STOP IT!'' ''just stop!'' LOL.

Bayless is playing a character. People take it too seriously.

He said that Troy Aikman was a closeted gay man. I'd say he kicked it up a notch that day. Therefore I no longer give him the benefit of the doubt.

:cap: :cap: :cap:

Bayless is trying too hard by referencing TDKR today.

Well I never noticed it until Stephen A continually berates him with it, but Skip does kinda resemble a comic version of the Joker. Albeit an older, wrinkly Dark Knight Returns Joker, but I certainly see it.

He definitely looks like he can be the older version of the Joker.

I'm not surprised. Skip being unwavering in his comments even when he's wrong is not fun to watch.

They need to get Charissa Thompson on there permanently. Skip isn't nearly as irritating with a little eye candy, and they've already let my personal women Reischea Canidate & Dana Jacobson go. (Yes, Dana Jacobson too, I'd break her off proper)

First Take can keep the craziness that is Stephen A vs Skip but still have legitimate debates where Skip doesn't just throw the same random arguments day after day.

The problem with First Take is that mention Tim Tebow every day, even when there's no Tim Tebow news they somehow fit a debate in there.

Also, they have the same debates way too much, especially during the NBA season. There's no need for "Who's the MVP" debate every single day. Neither is "Is Lebron the best player in the NBA?" or other Lebron related debates.

The problem is, people take Skip seriously. Skip may have been a serious sports analyst at one time but he has reached the point where he is playing a character. He is your typical opinionated sports analyst (like Cowherd) on crack. That is the point. People who get worked up miss the satire and that makes it even funnier. Hell, even Beadle admitted during her interview with Dan Patrick a couple weeks ago that Skip is playing a character at this point and the real Skip is entirely different. The funniest part of the joke is that Skip is a parody of everything that ESPN has allowed itself to become and his higher ups are entirely unaware (or apathetic). Skip Bayless is, for all intents and purposes, the Stephen Colbert of the sports media.

I'd agree with you if I believed Skip was a credible actor. And I don't think he is. I think he sincerely believes 95% of the stuff he says.

He definitely turned up his bravado and irritation factor in order to entertain, but he was high on Tebow in College, and sung his praises during the draft. He was on Lebron's case way back in '08, when hardly anyone spoke about James in a negative way. So I give him his due in that regard, but no doubt, he's become more of a "character" in how he delivers his opinion.

It's hard to give Skip the benefit of the doubt when he has been very opinionated for years, even before Cold Pizza/First Take.

People that work with him say he's one of the nicest guys ever. Michelle Beadle confirmed this when she did a recent interview.

I wouldn't be shocked if Jeter was using drugs since he's old now and he wants to keep going. I find nothing wrong with that but there has never been any type of evidence to suggest he is so Bayless is a complete moron to even bring it up

Agreed Jacobed(or jacobed)! I can't believe people are actually giving Skip heat over this because it has crossed my mind as well. Dude has "miraculously" had a MVP type season at 38, when last year he wasn't doing that well at all and we all saw it. I don't agree with everything Skip says because there are times where I do think he reaches. But to say that he's wrong to even say with everything going on in baseball, that we can't even question even Jeter is taking something is asinine, asiten, asieleven, asitwelve......................................
