But it shouldn't make you cringe. His eyes change shape for emotional displays, they're gonna change regardless. They change in the comics to express emotion, they change in the cartoons for the same reason. It's natural progression. Nothing to cringe about.

For me Spider-Man looks much younger with bigger eyes, and this is perfection in my opinion, hope it evolves to something like this in the solo movie.

Big eyes is a sign of youth. Babies and toddlers have huge eyes. Adults have small eyes. You're not crazy--I agree with you.

Also, I got pretty bored so I decided to scribble around in Photoshop and got carried away. My first drawing of the new suit (and Black Panther, too, but this is the Spider-Man forum so pretend he's not there )

I'd imagine the rims can retract outwards as well as in, so not only would we get bug eyes, but we'd get them with thick rims.

As said before, I've always liked the approach of big eyes for younger and smaller eyes for older.

I can see the opposite argument too, but that's just my preference.
