Homecoming The Official Spider-Man 2017 Manip Thread - Part 1

Taking into account the "sweatshirt" and original eye design posted to the Russo's Twitter I present the Spidey Proto Suit Concept from Civil War:

Pretty sure he's not going without a full mask of some sort. Also, making a hoodie isn't any less difficult than making a suit.

:whatever:
Sorry I don't like your 2000's Smallville excuse for a costume concept.
And you know what, maybe I will make one, maybe I won't; either way, I can still have my say and not have to make a costume concept to counter-act your terrible one to be justified.

Would still be better than the manip above.

Seeing as he's a teenager...whose need for money is highlighted in the comics (you've read those right???) why wouldn't his costume be "Smallville level" in the real world?

If you think any NORMAL teenager in NEED of money could create the suits featured in Spiderman (1) or TASM then you'd be incredibly insane.

I'm sure Peter was just like, "hey, I'm a pretty smart teenager who can draw cool costumes, that must mean I can magically make a costume [that costume 5k+ in real life to make]"

As for my costume concept, do you know the definition of "concept"?

Just incase you don't here's a lesson for you:

Concept - an abstract idea; a general notion.

Concept - a plan or intention; a conception.

Conceptual Art - art in which the idea presented by the artist is considered more important than the finished/actual product, if there is one.

Most shows and movies and artists concepts look nothing like the [potential] final product (i.e. Laurel's Black Canary concept on Arrow)

Point being, it's conceptual ... as in ... both the design are subject to change, and the level of effort being put into the art itself.

I'm not one for "manip-offs" but I'm also not one for idiotic non-constructive criticism, your initial comment of "I think that concept looks like **** honestly." doesn't help anyone. In no way was it constructive and, due to that, you shouldn't have bothered posting it as it's beneficial to absolutely no one but yourself. That said, based on the lack of constructive criticism within the comment, I'd assume you're one of those "big man on campus" kind of guys (ala pre-Agent Venom Flash Thompson) whose kind of just here to voice an opinion, but in no way has anything helpful to say.

Had you said, "not a fan of the concept; personally I'm partial to a more proto-spider suit", or anything of that nature you would have proven to me and the people of this thread that your opinion should be something to actually be taken seriously - rather than as something to be ignored. Furthermore, I'd assume you used the "****" asterisk in order to garner attention to an otherwise throwaway comment.

Have a great day...

P.S. Let's not forget what happened to Flash --

Still for prototype loo I see something more like a kickass costume is somethung a young with little funds suit peter could have. Then going silly hoodie and no mask stuff.

Also those symbiote and 2099 edits look good back a page.

See this is constructive, it gets a conversation going, I can ask:

-What kind of design do you think he could afford in terms of a costume?
-After sinking [likely] most of his money into web-shooter tech and web-fluids, how much do you think Pete would have to invest into an actual costume? (Not a silk screened real life suit that costs 5k...)

Well like I said in past pants and long sleeve shirt could be something simple as under armour like material or a knock off brand like that. Red and blue shirt and pants. That he can add a spider on front and back. He likely has early webshooters tech made out of other materials ie watches and some other tech bits from radios or computers. And mask like I said something like a full head ski mask he alters eith putting sun glasses lens in is something I rather see. Then just a hoodie and googles.

Don't know about some of you but i think the first costume might just be like what Tony said: Underoos
Peter might just be wearing a pijama looking suit for his first costume ala:

and if i am lucky:

I don't think so. Typically the movies like to emphasize the leap in quality between the proto-suit and the final suit by doing an outfit that requires no sewing or something like that.

"Bro stop he has a hood, that looks dumb"

Jk, looks great!
Found it arround dA.
I still don't really see a issue with Peter using a customized Hoodie (or a hoodie at all). Maybe is because i haven't seen Smallville and haven't been overlyexposed to Superheroes changing their flashy costumes to hoodies and dark glasses.

Given Marvel's tendency to change every characters costume (pretty drastically) every movie, I would be shocked if most eye and color combos are covered by the end of the first new Holland trilogy.
