Took my copy back and got the Godfather....my brother posted this (in reply to the Nintendo Magazine review) and even if it IS ok I'll wait until it hits 20....which won't take long at all do to it being a movie game.
Anyway, this is what my brother had to say about it. The "quotes" are from Nintendo Magazine.
Hold the horses!
I rented it and so far it's not bad at all. I would at least give it a 6/10 so far (after two hours of game play). Let's look at that Nintendo review.

nstead, we're tackling Spider-Man 3 from the only angle that seems appropriate: whether it's worth £40. And the answer is no
Now if that's ALL they are asking themselves in this review, the answer may indeed be "no". Is the game worth $50? So far I'd say it's on par with the first and second games in the series. Honestly, swinging with the Wiimote and nun-chuck is much easier to me that using a controller, at least so far. Aiming where I want to go with the nun-chuck and then swinging with the wiimote is a snap. Web-bounding up buildings is easier than ever for me as well. I completed four missions in 45 minutes which is pretty good for and a Spider-man game.

Surprisingly, it's the game's use of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk that comes off best. Sure, so it's not the intuitive 'swing anywhere' approach we were expecting - try as we might, using different flicks and motions on the controllers never let us direct where we flung our webs - but swinging through New York with regular flicks of the wrist is still pretty cool.
Part of this is true and part isn't. The controls work well and are by far the best part of the game! However, I can indeed control the direction I shoot my webs in! If I flick on an angle I shoot on an angle and with either hand which is very nice! The control while web slinging is spot on IMO.

Sadly though, this trickle of good points is drowned in a torrent of failings. For starters, the whole thing looks genuinely atrocious. From the barren streets of New York that barely have enough pedestrians on them to fill a double-decker bus to the horrible undetailed buildings and awful character animation, it really is a visual mess. Also the cut-scenes are so unimpressive, they almost look like something off the PSone.
Again, partly true and partly untrue. It doesn't look "GREAT" but it's far from atrocious. Yes, the streets are not "packed" with people, but if they were it would confuse the hell out of you! There are already so many contacts (gang informers, police, under cover agents, etc. that you have to find as well as mission objectives that haiving hundreds of NPC civilians would be maddening! It would look good, but it would be a major distraction. On the other note, the cut scenes do NOT look like PSone material, that's just a stupid thing to say.

It gets worse. While the Wii-implemented controls aren't that bad, the awful glitchiness of Spider-Man's overall movement is unforgivable, the missions do nothing to create the kind of excitement you'd expect from a superhero action game and the movie-related boss battles are rubbish because they're not woven into the game experience at all.
I've not had a "glitch" yet so I guess I am not 100% certain of legitimacy of this comment. As for the missions, I dunno...they are as good or better than Spider-Man two. I'm not saving cats or the same guys from burning buildings over and over. I've stopped mad bombers so far that have been fairly tough fights. I've enjoyed it. If the missions stay the same, well then it may get boring but I am nearly certain they change over time with different gangs. I've not fought a movie bad guy/boss so I am not sure how it's "woven in" to the story of the game. I can't see that being a MAJOR deal.

For a game that is guaranteed to sell hundreds of thousands, this is a shambles. It smacks of a rush job that's been bunged out to coincide with the film's release, simply because the whole thing feels totally unfinished. Dreadful.
Shambles, rush job, bunged out (is that supposed to be banged out?), unfinished, and dreadful are complete over exaggerations that the review writer should be ashamed of. Heck even the graphics aren't are horrid as many are saying. They are no where close to 360 or PS3 graphics, but they are not PSOne graphics! Maybe Game Cube graphics would be fair, but then it's no Resident Evil 4 either.
