Comics The Official Storm vs Jean thread

So who would win in a Jean Grey/Phoenix vs Storm?

Not to be mean, but have you read any of the other pages in this topic? If it was so simple to state, it would have been decided on Page 1.

You cant resurrect something that wasnt finished, considering It was a simple question of what the verdict was as of the present. If u would have just wrote the answer, considering there are both sides in this thread that are pressed, so how can u tell for sure? My question was simple, who would win, so in ur next response just tell me who.

Jean is a powerful telepath, but her telepathic powers are just not enough to beat Storm.

Storm is a better fighter. Storm's powers are immense. Storm can beat Jean Grey. Can Jean protect herself from a cannonade of lightning? Negatory.

Storm wins this.

Storm beats Jean Grey easily. This is not even a fight. Ororo's willpower is more than a match for either Xavier or Shadow King. Compared to them, Jean is a joke of a telepath. Her feats do not begin to compare with theirs. Also, Ororo's elemental powers dish out far greater punishment than Jean's TK can withstand. I can recall in "LegionQuest" where Storm batters Legion with incredible winds. As Legion was the focus of the wind assault, Jean only got a fraction of the fury Legion was getting and her TK shields could barely withstand that and could not even do that much for long. Imagine if Ororo had made Jean her primary target. Then we have another issue right before Operation Zero Tolerance where Ororo destroys a massive lab with her lightning. The lightning hurled the glass with such force that Jean's TK bubble could barely withstand the impact of the glass. Imagine if Storm had targeted Jean with the lightning bolts themselves instead of her bubble being hit by glass projectiles...

You get my drift.

Then there is the whole point that Jean has to concentrate harder than Ororo to bring her powers online. Uncanny 267 (or 269) establishes this in a danger room battle between the two. Jean's only chance against Ororo is to sneak attack her with her TK powers. Storm is leaps and bounds beyond Jean Grey in terms of power, skill and ruthlessness.

It's 270, and there's also 385 to prove that. And to a certainextent even 137, Jean could not exit Ororo's hurricane when she attacked her.

I mean... Page 1 pretty much said it all. Jean's got more power, Storm's got more endurance... they're approximately equal. Neither one can easily defeat the other. Like Wolverine and Batman, both have rabid fanboys, but the fact remains that they're equals in nearly every conceivable way.

That's Jean with the Phoenix Force. Without the PF, Storm is well above Jean Grey.

Nah! We don't know what will happen next. Storm is full of surprises when it comes to her powers and abilities. She might turn into what she became on the Rogue Storm issue. Or used her power to control matter just like what she did to the Trion who powers are described near incalculable.

So Storm is well above Jean without the force, but was supposed to be equal to Jean with PF until it got out of hand?

And then, after it got out of hand with Jean and the PF which resulted in Jean's death, CC then put Storm on that "out-of-hand" level. :D

Phoenix Force = Cosmic power that can shape reality on a whim

Phoenix Force > Any kind of weather

Storm's abilities are to see the environment/reality/universe as patterns of energy and bend them to her will.

I think that's a stretch. I've yet to see Storm bend reality or the universe to her will in the ways that Phoenix can.

What is Phoenix's most impressive display? Making a star go supernova? Or, if we'll go with Morrison's arc, healing a universe by making Scott go with Emma. Ok. What is Storm's most impressive display? Channeling the energies of millions of stars and planets? Or healing fractured dimensional appetures and besting the Trion, the symbolic totality of an entire dimension? Either way Storm is just a powerful, if not more so, than Jean's Phoenix antics. And she doesn't go delusionally psychotic and kill billions while she's at it. And as for 'normal' Jean, she can not touch Storm's mind uninvited, and her telekinesis can not withstand Ororo's elemental onslaught.

Yes Jean 15104 did that, not Jean 616

Ororo was reality itself when Eternity was resting in her mind

Powerless:
Storm vs. Jean = Storm

Powered:

Storm vs Jean Phoenix = 5/10

Storm vs The Phoenix = Phoenix

Devolved Storm vs. Jean Phoenix = Devo Storm

Storm vs Omega Jean = Omega Jean

Omega (Rogue) Storm vs. Omega Jean =5/10

Re-shaping reality, reforging the bonds that hold reality together, and creating an entirely new reality.
So basically altering physics.

I think that's a stretch. I've yet to see Storm bend reality or the universe to her will in the ways that Phoenix can.
I agree.

Phoenix Force = Cosmic power that can shape reality on a whim

Phoenix Force > Any kind of weather[/quote
That about sums it up.

Storm stands no chance against Phoenix. As for phoenixless Jean, she stands no chance against Storm.

There's nothing to really debate here, people. Phoenix wins, regular Jean doesn't.

StormLegend, we saw DarkPhoenix mercilessly battered by Ororo's winds, and she wasn't even really trying to kill her. Imagine Rogue Storm, just like she was in 147, completely mad, utterly powerful... Phoenix doesn't stand a chance....
