Those are all places where storm is really there, when an illusion is put in her mind what's stopping her emotions from calling seriously bad weather? Read the dark storm issue and see that doom's encasement never stopped storm from creating a terrible storm, and that it actually caused storm to become more powerful, also as i said telepathy won't work because storm can create an electrical storm to scramble a telepathic link altogether, which will be created anyway once jean try's to put illusions of claustrophobia in her mind.

yeah right... when you mean like the time when Jean had to practically psychically guide storm whenever storm went practically catatonic whenever her claustophobia took over her in the mid 90's. duh...


Also if that's the case you talking about Jean can't effect storm with her psychic powers then why did storm go smack down hard on the ground during the Dark phoenix storyline? Jean read storm's mind, and then literally broke down the eletrolytes in storms lightning, and handed storm her own ass.

Jean would hand storm's ass over to her end of story.

That's why when storm almost died in Xtreme X-men who was there to keep her from dying? Jean saved storm's life, and yet if storm's was so powerful why was she crippled in the first place?!

And um, where is Jean now? Looking for the other Phoenixes which is a euphemism for DEAD.

That case when Jean broke down Storm's electrolytes was using her Phoenix powers. Jean wasn't strong enough with the telekinesis to do it without them. That is the WHOLE POINT of the PHOENIX FORCE to INCREASE Jean's natural abilities.

Jean said it herself in X-treme that she can't break through Storm's natural psy shields. Only the Professor can, cause he's the greatest blah blah blah.

So to sum up Jean's natural abilities < Storm's natural defense < Xavier.

Besides in a no power fight consider Jean Storm's mop. She never took the time to immerse herself in intense martial training.

By the way, the Phoenix isn't greatest ever. She never was able to take down the Celestials.

Yes, I was a Storm fan, but I know her limits. Hell, I am one of those people who doesn't want her to be an Omega, even though she meets the qualifications.

Becoming all powerful just destroys a characters chances at development. Case in point take a long hard look at Jean. For the last 25+ years she hasn't done anything besides lather rinse repeat Phoenix, be a birthing machine for AU kids, and be in love triangles.

Don't believe me. Think real long hard about Scott/Jean/Angel, Xavier/Jean/Scott, Scott/Jean/Logan, and finally Emma/Scott/Jean. I'm surprised the mansion hasn't come down with a bad case of VD.

Scott even told Betsy no for Jean, case closed, subject dropped. He dumped Maddie for her like a burlap sap full of kittens in the Mississippi. (I love using that phrase)

My crap case for Jean solidified when Jean turns all Dark Phoenixy and constantly needs someone to save her. FOR CRYIN OUT LOUD. All that power and she's STILL a damsel in distress. Time after time. WTF.

Yea sure Storm's got the clausterphobia thing, but she still manages to be a successful non-homicidal X-men and a genuine leader. Something that's not given high marks on Jean's report card.

As for current Storm,go head. Crap on her all you want. Hell, I will join you. She's not the same character since Hudlin bought her off the auction block.

No Storm was not on that list. I just didnt see the point as listing it as the discussion has been about who would win between Storm and Jean and not Jean in a bunch of other people.

I prefer Jean without the actual Phoenix Force. The Jean I grew up on was the one after the X-Factor retcon and felt she was powerful enough. She went 15 years without having the PF until Morrison deciding to bring it all back and say she was actually Phoenix. I dont think that ever should have happened.

While Jean has been in a few triangles, I just have to say Id hardly call Xavier/Jean/Scott one. Thats pushing it unless your getting into Ultimate territory.

I understand that you just want the family back and that's cool i don't have a problem with that at all. I was just defending Jean because i'm getting tired of the people just making a thread on Storm/Jean characters just to attack her, and yet we been attacking storm's character back which it isn't right on our part either. So i apologize for becoming just as wrong, because i love storm and Jean, and i have a feeling Jean and Storm will eventually soon will go back to their normal selves, and be the sisters again that they should be along with the rest of the X-men family hopefully without teasing Logan.

Edit: You know I actually forgot all about the 616 Xavier/Jean thing until someone brought it up in the UXM thread. Yea, Xavier did have sexual feelings for her while she was a student of his in mainline.

Yes, he did. After she gave birth. He found out about Jean and said "Ta."

She only ever turned to Angel for comfort in the early days of X-factor and she and Scott were not a couple then. She owed him nothing.

Scott never dump Maddie for Jean. He found out she was dead and he went to go see it with his own eyes. He then decided to do what he loved and thats to be a hero. He tried (although not the best way) to contact Maddie. She never answered his calls and he assumed that she was so angry that she didnt want to talk to him. After a few weeks of that, he went back to her in Alaska and she was gone (thanks to the Marauders). He was faithful to her during that time and didnt just reunite with Jean. Like I said before, he didnt try anything with Jean until he thought he was a widower

Technicallity godessreichos. Madelyne had a part of Jean's conscious that Jean rejected in the healing pod, and it sensed the clone, that's when Jean's conscious woke the clone up.

Some of Jean's tragic memories though during Fantastic four, as well as the inferno were missing because Jean rejected them at first, and that's when part of the conscious with some of her memories went to the clone body Sinister created of Jean. When Madelyne died Jean took back that part of her own consciousness, and those missing memories.

So it was Sinister, Jean and Scott who messed up. What led down to Madelyne's downfall was she had Jean's childhood memories, and she had her memories as Dark phoenix, which ended up taking it's toll. Sinister telepathically used hypnotic suggestion on the clone and they weren't real memories that he gave to the clone. Sinister was the one who named the cloned body off of Jean.. by giving her the name Madelyne Pryor.

Oh boy, the whole Maddie thing. See Maddie was supposed to be her own person. That lousy diluted retcon of Jean's memories and all of that more bad ideas involving Jean and Phoenix.

That's a reason why Maddie hated Jean. Even Maddie's death is questionable. Jeeze, I forgot all about the Maddie/Scott/Jean triangle, damn. But I don't want to talk about that.

My original point is that a no power fight, Storm owns. No Phoenix fight, is a toss up but I would have to give it to Storm. Because Jean would first have to break through Storm's natural defenses then decipher her attacks, and what's Storm doing the whole time, standing there twiddling her thumbs? It would be a tough fight, but again Storm has tactical training and martial arts training and she's not afraid to "think out of the box" or "play dirty."

That's not Jean's style. I do believe that's why she has the fan base she does. She's an all around generally nice person. When it comes to men, she can be a little too nice. But who's counting that? Oh yea, me

Whew...good thing there's no other X-men who was ever on the team who thought like that. ...especially like Wolverine, whose motto it is to actually BE better than everyone else or Scott who is so out of touch with people because he thinks he's smarter than everyone else.

At least no one else on the team has social problems.

I'm not going to touch the "claustrophobia" topic because it's already been defended.

Jean owned Emma Frost as is she was nothing and represents a formidable challenge to f****n Xavier. Jean would crush Storm's mind with a snap of her finger.

And as for Mags... he had DECADES of practice.

Do you even have any idea how strong Storm's willpower is? Storm is like only next to Mags in terms of willpower. No matter how strong an attack that hit her, no matter how long she had been taken out, she can get out or recover from it faster than anyone else on the team. I forgot that whole thing when she got knocked down but the one who attacked her said that she would come out of it eventually because of her willpower.

And willpower plus her lightning fields would prove to be harder for telepaths to get to her. Especially when she's aware someone is going to attack her. How many times did Storm beat Emma in a fight? And she did beat that Eternal forgot her name.

But please, this thread is like so old already. This exist in any forums I know. Jean has Phoenix, okay? Her powers have been retconned for so many long in so many ways she's really powerful it's ridiculous.

Can Phoenix go against Living Tribunal? Because Dr. Strange did and lived to tell the tale. If not, therefore I conclude, Dr. Strange will wipe Phoenix the entire galaxy. Hell, he has a good chance against Silver Surfer.

First off quit stereotyping. What is this double standard in society? Men can go around and say the worst degrading things about women and sleep with a bunch of women and he's never called out for it, but Yet when women even talks about having sex she's called out, and called every dirty name in the book. much sarcasm...
