I'm not going to touch the "claustrophobia" topic because it's already been defended.



Do you even have any idea how strong Storm's willpower is? Storm is like only next to Mags in terms of willpower. No matter how strong an attack that hit her, no matter how long she had been taken out, she can get out or recover from it faster than anyone else on the team. I forgot that whole thing when she got knocked down but the one who attacked her said that she would come out of it eventually because of her willpower.

And willpower plus her lightning fields would prove to be harder for telepaths to get to her. Especially when she's aware someone is going to attack her. How many times did Storm beat Emma in a fight? And she did beat that Eternal forgot her name.

But please, this thread is like so old already. This exist in any forums I know. Jean has Phoenix, okay? Her powers have been retconned for so many long in so many ways she's really powerful it's ridiculous.




Can Phoenix go against Living Tribunal? Because Dr. Strange did and lived to tell the tale. If not, therefore I conclude, Dr. Strange will wipe Phoenix the entire galaxy. Hell, he has a good chance against Silver Surfer.

So what?! you act as if Jean as Phoenix has never fought any of the celestials, but guess what she fought Galactus.

Jean fought Galactus as Phoenix way before she corrupted into Dark Phoenix in what if Phoenix hadn't died issue. She beat him Galactus. Dr Strange has a chance but it doesn't mean jean can't doesn't have a chance to take dr.Strange. much sarcasm...

Sure Storm, has had what...one substantial relationship (before her god awful retcon) Forge, one absurdly ambiguous one Wolverine, and one weird thing with Arkon that made no sense at all.

But I wasn't suggesting anything. The truth is that Jean has been passed around the mansion. I didn't write that in there. And I hate that. She shouldn't be there as a piece of *** or a b**** in a cat fight. She's better than that, and hasn't had the chance to be because of the lack of development. I said that Jean is a nice person.

I refuse to glitter characters with sparkly happy dust when there's not much to glitter.

If Ororo and Jean's stories hadn't imploded in on themselves I wouldn't have lost faith in them. Sorry.

I wasn't suggesting that Jean has been passed around amongst the X-men...she *has* been passed around the X-men.

That's not a suggestion, that is a fact. So whether or not she was in a monogamous relationship or not is besides the fact.

Sure other people have gotten some, but they were smart enough to leave the mansion for it. Even for the non-manwhich love triangles she was in, they were still in the mansion.

My point is that the "Storm is uber l33t roxxor VS telepaths" angle is complete bull.

I know it's canon. It just doesn't make ANY f****n sense.

That being said, I still like the character and yes, she's a powerhouse.

It just doesn't mean I don't think the telepathy angle is preposterous.

Passed around the mansion? Jean has only been with one X-men, Scott and several kisses with Logan over he years. Warren was crushing on her in the beginning but she didnt go anywhere with him. I dont see how Jean is any different from Storm in that regards. She was involved with Forge, had a brief thing with Slipstream and during CC's last run, she bounced from Nightcrawler to Wolverine

Well, Jean used to love Scot and Logan together, while men came into storm's life 1 by 1, 1 at a time.

I like both Storm & Jean, but controling the weather is a mere
talent compared to how Jean will destroy her mind.
She can make her think the walls are caving in and it's over.
The fact that Jean is a telepath is a huge advantage.

I used to love the characters of Storm and of Jean but now they seem to be a parody of themselves and I ifnd myself hating them, Storm more so. They are both portrayed as too powerful, too full of themselves and come across as ****'s with a goddess complex. I liked the old days when Storm was humble and didn't boast about her power, looks etc and Jean was much weaker as she is now but still an asset to the team. His modo is he is the best at what he does. Also thinking that you are smarter is not the same as what Storm does, when has Scott ever claimed he is smarter than everybody else? Never. Claiming to be a Goddess is on a whole nother level. Apples and Oranges.

Pretty touchy aren't you? I'm just replying to what another poster saying those people have a chance with her. I'm just defending Galactus because stating he has a CHANCE against Phoenix is an insult to his power. So what if she fought G, many beings did. And What If's are not canon. Storm became Phoenix in a What If issue, for pete's sake.

It's my opinion you know, Jean as Phoenix might have a chance against Dr. Strange, but IMO, she doesn't take the majority, or even a victory. He went up against beings more powerful than Phoenix and lived. And when the PF went mad, four or five heroes managed to throw it on another timeline. And they're just ordinary mutants, two of them were Storm and Banshee. What I'm trying to say is that Phoenix is not the most powerful. You seem to make it look like she has a chance against anyone on MU, which she DOES NOT.

But back to the topic, Jean still wins this. I'm tired of this crap over and over again, even though I love Storm.

I wish they could do something fresh and truly original with them and have some proper charcater development, and marrying Storm off didn't count as original. Maybe depower Storm and strip Jean fo the Phoenix, if its possible. That would be interesting and so how many people are true fans of the characters or just cus they're so powerful. I must be different from other people but I don't like uberpowerful charcaters, I prefer someone who has an appeal and is interesting. Someone with strengths and weaknessess and acts as a human being and not some 2 dimensional 'I'm a beauty Queen/ I'm a Goddesss/ I'm so powerful' type.

So Marrying Jean off wasn't original either? The characters can't stay all "original" forever ya know. So what if Storm got married? I hope you don't expect her to stay single forever now? I'm with you on the whole "I'm a goddess" thing, because she's even said plenty of times that she's not a goddess (with many more occasions when people compare her to a goddess), but Storm is not ubber powerful, and I'm certaintly glad that they don't/didn't overrate her like Jean because that would surely result in another death. Word of advice: You should look pass bashing Ororo for calling herself A goddess when tons of other people look to her as one as well I'm just happy that even when she calls herself a goddess she doesn't go destroying any and everything
