Also considering how AIDS affects the immune system it really wouldn't matter how much of a healing factor you have, that's why it's such a *****. Though someone like the hulk could probably deal with it easily as the radiation would just destroy the virus but somehow not give everyone around him cancer, odd that.

True. His cells grow back, but they're horribly mutated, f***ed up cancer cells.

AIDS attacks the immune system, though, so it's kind of tailor-made to get its viral ass kicked by a healing factor.

AIDS tricks the immune system though, so it doesn't get attacked. That's why it's impossible to get rid of.

I don't know, then. Maybe AIDS is healing-factor-proof too.

The Hulk gave Betty cancer, didn't he? Or was that retconned when she came back?

Actually thinking about it wolverine probably does have AIDS (considering the sheer level of blood he's basically bathed in full of open wounds) but his immune system keeps it at bay by making sure that every white blood cell killed gets replaced immediately.

So there you have it folks. Wolverine. Chock full of AIDS and can't pull his claws out of people.

How long do we have to put up with this Tanarus freak?

I'll definitely be checking out JiM. That aspect could be very fun with him.

And until that year or two has passed I refuse to read anything featuring Tanarus.
The Mighty Thor is still going to be following Thor as he makes his way back from whatever void/underworld/hell he winds up in after dying this time. It'll be split between him and Tanarus.

And Thor'll be back within an arc at the most. Think about it, we're just about in December and one arc is about 6 to 8 months. What's coming up in 6 months? Avengers, which features Thor and Loki heavily. Marvel would be off their nut to have Thor languishing in the afterlife and some imposter stealing his series when that giant-ass movie debuts.

Alright, when the trades are released I'll rip out the panels with Tanarus.

It's a very temp thing, it isn't a permanent idea or anything so really it's no big deal. Hell considering the numerous objections to the way fraction's been writing thor you'd think with him not interacting with most of the earth bound cast (where I've seen the most objections) would be a good thing.

It's still annoying though. But speaking of temporary I'm beginning to wonder if pulling the plug on Peter Parker/Carlie Cooper was always part of the plan (so that Pete can have an eternal revolving door of girlfriends again) or if they thought the character of Carlie simply generated too much negativity among fans and decided she wasn't worth the effort.

"OMD" seems to imply that they're not concerned about negativity among fans.

I actually kind of like the concept of Thor's myth being so important that a Norse thunder god literally can't be absent from the world. But I still hope there's something nefarious behind Tanarus' appearance, since Thor's died before and a new thunder god didn't immediately pop into existence. Plus, Fraction writes basically Thor's entire cast so terribly that I'm sure he'll find a way to f*** even a good idea like that up.

I would agree with corp, and I think there is something evil going on which I hope loki puts an end to.

But as a temp change of pace I see no problem with something like this. Fraction is in no way replacing thor so it's cool as a story concept. Fraction is a great writer. He hasn't been of late, but he can still turn that around.

I don't know about that on Thor. The guy clearly seems to think that the Asgardians are every bit the barbarian jerkwads today as he portrayed them in his Ages of Thunder series, which was set way in their collective past. That's a fundamental attitude toward the characters that is just flat-out wrong. I could overlook it for most of them, but Thor overcoming that boneheaded, brutish arrogance is the defining heroic trait of the character, so it's like nails on a chalkboard every time I see Fraction make Thor literally roar or explode in anger at someone over virtually nothing.

I'm not disagreeing, but I will say thor was a jerk in the past, and it is possible for fraction to improve in his handling of the characters.
