I wish the story would have at least put Talbot in the role that Ross vacated. Hell, I would have accepted Talbot in the role of Rulk before Ross. And that's why they made him Rulk.

What I don't like is that they're doing things with Rulk with the Avengers, that they should have done with Bruce.

I think that'll change with Avengers Assemble and the movie, though. Plus, you have to admit, the Hulk was really dumb for a long time. It would've been hard to do the same kinds of things with him that they did with Ross simply because the Hulk wouldn't have taken direction like Ross. He'd have been like, "Flag man no command me! Hulk smash because Hulk want to, flag man, not because flag man say so!" And even that's probably overestimating the Hulk's ability to form complete sentences the way some creators have portrayed him.

Yeah well seeing as how Hulk changes personalities like everybody changes pants, it shouldn't be too difficult to have him go back to the Professor version for a while. It was great in The Infinity Gauntlet.

Bleh, that's still just so stupid. I really hope he's more like he was in the first Avengers stories or the current cartoon. Surly but able to form complete sentences and have an actual personality.

What's wrong with the Hulk we've had since riiiiiiiiight before Ross joined the Avengers? Hulk was coherent...still is. Hulk hasn't been an imbecile (against all odds) in years. Hell, it was a smart(ish) Hulk that took down Joke Hulk (clever).

Either way, the Hulk--any Hulk--is in no way a required fixture of the Avengers. If anything, She-Hulk would be the best candidate to rejoin the team. People are overestimating the Hulk's connection to the Avengers so much lately because of the movie.

I don't think he needs to be a required fixture but for me personally, I think a stint with the team is something that's way overdue. I think the last times he was part of the Avengers for any reason was The Search for She-Hulk during the Geoff Johns run and the Hulk/Diablo story from the Busiek run.

How did marvel explain The Hawkeye/Mockingbird split?, I have seen Hank is with Spider Woman, has this been dealt with?

They were rocky all throughout the Hawkeye and Mockingbird series and finally broke it off during the Widowmaker mini.

Basically, Mockingbird took a much harder stance on superheroing and fell back on her SHIELD/spy training. Hawkeye felt like he had to "save" her, bringing her back in line with the less violent standard superhero posture--"Avengers don't kill" and all that. But Mockingbird resisted because she has issues with feeling powerless, and she even started seeking out bad influences like Dominic Fortune. Ultimately, Hawkeye realized Mockingbird just didn't want to be saved; she didn't really want to go back to how things were or, he surmised, to be with him anymore. So he left the WCA (World Counterterrorism Agency, Mockingbird's personal task force) and they finally broke up for good.

Also, Hawkeye's name is Clint, not Hank.

I agree. No need for Hulk to be an Avenger in current comics or movies - Pym's much more essential to any Avenger line-up.

Who's the better shot, Hawkeye or Bullseye?

I'd say Bullseye. He isn't limited to just a bow and arrow either. He can turn pretty much anything you can throw into a lethal weapon. He's got some ridiculous feats, really, if he wasn't a villain who has to lose simply because he's a villain he'd be one of the top tier non super powered heroes.

He usually shoots people non-lethally, at least in the comics I've been reading with him lately. But yeah, he definitely doesn't have a perfect record or anything. I imagine that'll get even worse after movie-Clint puts arrows through the heads of everything that moves for 2 hours, too.

so was widowmaker and the Hawkeye/Mockingbird stuff a good read?

Widowmaker was OK. I was reading the latest Black Widow and then that mini came along. I was sad to see that story was the end of her series. Marjorie Liu did alot better with the character.
