what happened with the hulk title in the late 90's? was peter david forced off the title? and why as it rebooted with john byrne of all people

I kind of wish someone with an irreverent sense of humor, like Hawkeye or Iron Man, had gone ahead and called it a Cosmic Cube. Then everyone looks at him and he's like, "What? It's a cube and it's cosmic!" Could've been a nice little gag for the comic readers. :D

I actually really hate how they never did call it that.

I am looking for a picture of Peter Parker with his civilian clothing ripped revealing the Spider-Man costume underneath. I know I saw this somewhere, maybe when he fought that Morlun guy. Its for a Halloween costume idea I am working on. Can anyone help me?

You mean like this? It's a pretty iconic shot that's been done a billion times over since.

Who's the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. now? Daisy Johnson, Maria Hill, Nick Fury Jr?

Steve Rogers.

Daisy is an Avenger (for now) and Maria Hill still holds a command position. I'm assuming Sharon Carter and Victoria Hand still do as well.

I thought Steve gave up that position after Bucky "died" in Fear Itself and became Captain America again. Cuz I read Winter Soldier a couple weeks back and I thought it said "Maria Hill- Director of S.H.I.E.L.D." and then when I looked it up on Wikipedia it said at the end of Secret Warriors Fury made Daisy director.

YES! exactly. I had forgotten about this image if you can believe it. This is what I wanted.
I was also thinking of this:

I like his art because he isn't drawing big boobs and overly defined muscles for everyone...

EDIT: To be clear, I'm not against big boobs and muscles, I just find JRJR's "cutesy" art to be, well, cute.

JRJr's been off his game for the past few years. His characters have started looking blocky and unpolished. It's completely turned me off to his artwork.

His Uncanny Xmen run was downright awful to me. Im not a fan of him but i will agree that his Spiderman run was pretty good. His best actually

Where did the Avengers Academy students get their powers? It seems so unclear?

It was explained of the course of the first year of the title in solo stories. They all pretty much developed them at some point but Norman Osborn did some tampering to them as well.

For s**ts and giggles here's the tally:

Reptil - from a magic medallion his parents found on an archeological dig

Finesse - possibly the Taskmaster's daughter

Hazmat - unknown

Mettle - blunt trauma to the head during a surfing accident that sped up the development of his powers

Striker - manifested when he was sexually assaulted by his manager/mother's bf

Veil - unknown origin/she developed them in high school

So really for a few of them the argument could be made that they are possibly mutants.

How old is Magik/Illyana Rasputin supposed to be at this point?

Its hard to say. When she was reconstructed in New X-men, I think she was supposed to be the age she was when she disappeared in Inferno, which would have placed her at about 15-16. However at the start of New Mutants v3, she had just returned from the future and in #9, she revealed that she was away for "many years". No number was actually given, but I would say she should be in her early 20s

I always figured Veil was a mutant, what with the powers manifesting around puberty

Yes I've just come to conclude that most of them are mutants. I can't work out if the writers are just leaving us geussing purpousfully or they're just being lazy and stupid.

I think Gage could be just leaving it open for someone else to decide down the line. Some back stories he put more effort to into than others like Finesse for example.
