The Official Stupid Question Thread: Marvel Edition - Part 6

Umm...no? It's there, and new.

Feel free to PM me. This back 'n' forth here is weird.

What do you mean back and forth? I only asked you one time.
And it's not there. Believe me, I looked numerous times. You closed the thread.

How many X-Men characters have had aquatic powers?

Namor, that Atlantean mutant kid that's background fodder, and Loa are all I can think of.

The Atlantean was named Crosta. There's the recent student named Shark Girl, whose powers should sound obvious (for all the decent stuff Aaron did when he wrote, he sucked with coming up with codenames). And back when Gambit had a student squad, he had a kid named Rain Boy, who was a living water form.

I'm reading through Abnett and Lanning's Nova and loving the hell out of it. Are there any classic Nova stories I should look out for? Any popular New Warriors stories he featured heavily in?

Not sure of any classic ones but anything from Annihilation onwards makes him be a complete badass.

Anyone else listen to Rachel and Miles explain the X-Men podcast? I just started and this stuff is hilarious. They have about 84 episodes now and they're about an hour each. I just started a few days ago thanks to a link from Tvtropes and I'm enjoying them.

They actually try and explain the insanity of the x-men and the rest of the MU with all the time travel, alternate timelines, paradoxes, cloning, ect. but they also have fun with it. I'd suggest anyone who likes X-Men give them a try.

Yeah, I've listened to all but the most recent. I sort of pace myself to the show now - I have to read whatever they're covering before they cover it. But for the show, I don't think I would have gotten into New Mutants and X-Factor.

I just picked one at random to try it and started on 65 with the mutant massacre. I've read it before and knew a lot of what they were talking about but they put a good spin on the events and made me look at it from a different angle.

I've currently downloaded most of them and loaded a bunch on my phone.

I think I lost it when they talked about the silver age issues and said that all of Stan Lee's characters talk like they're carnival barkers.

Well to be fair he did have a lot happen at circuses. The X-Men met the Blob there, Hulk juggled elephants, circus of crime, ect.

What are some good stories for reading about the Black Knight/Dane Whitman?

Well there's that time he had an affair with Crystal. :p

Poor Crystal has been nothing but passed around to guys lately by authors. I really hope Asmus and Soule remedy that in the upcoming Inhumans comic.

I haven't read much with Whitman, I was just occasionally aware of what team he was on growing up. He got a lot of page time during the Avengers' bomber-jacket days in the 90's. That's probably not what ya want. After that, they started up Heroes for Hire and he worked with Luke Cage and Iron Fist. I remember that being well-received, but I never read it.

Here's a question I doubt Marvel ever considered answering:

Remember the X-Men issues a bit after Giant Size #1 where Nightcrawler, Wolverine and the rest got recruited? Well during the Juggernaut/Black Tom fight in Cassidy Keep some leprechauns called Wolverine 'Mr Logan' which was the first know use of his 'real' name. How the **** did they know that?

Hey I heard at my local shop earlier is it true secret war #9 been delayed now to jan.

That's stupid but not a question. :p

It wasnt leprechauns, but rather one leprechaun, Padraic. The theory is that he knew Wolverine from his past life

I'm finally binge watching Jessica Jones. 10 minutes in. I love Daredevil.

Will. I. Like. This?
