HOLY ****ING CRAP!!!!! :wow:

My #1 Choice was Cast.... WOOOOOOOOWWWWW I'm sooo excited!!!!

Now I'm curious... Jamie said this was not happening... I'm curious as to what happened for him to actually get cast.... regardless... I'm stoked!!!! :awesome:

Yeah, so much for insider info. Guess their word is as good as... well, ours.

Whatever, I agree. Again, they actually cast someone alotta fans wanted.

Not propagating rumors, just stating that WB did an about face about this casting decision. If Snyder is being officially quoted now there's not much left to question for me other than why they changed their mind. Can't say I am going to be watching this one. I really was hoping they would go for a true imposing Man of Steel and this one doesn't cut it for me. Such is life.

No I meant the folks saying "suck it - he's obviously not since he was cast" (essentially) were continuing to propagate it by bringing it up, since it is now a non-issue. I didn't mean to imply I thought you were. And I'd agree, that yes, it did seem to come out of the blue. But I'm stoked! Maybe he'll bulk up adequately for you and surprise you! :yay:

Not my first choice, but i'll give him a chance.

Gay has nothing to do with it. Roc Hudson was the screen's most masculine man in the 1950's. Women loved him. And he was gay.

No, he was NOT the most masculine man. That would be CLINT WALKER.

Yeah, Roc was manly, for sure, but no Clint Walker.

Could be, but Rock Hudson was a huge hearthrob, and he was gay. And so was Cary Grant, who was the model for Bruce Wayne.

Not a chance. If he were a couple inches taller and had the right frame to put on the added muscle I would personally like to see for the Man of Steel it still wouldn't be enough for me. He just doesn't have the look and persona I prefer for Superman. We all see things differently and I just don't care for him as the Man of Steel.

A lot of people said the same about a lot of actors cast in these roles and were proven wrong. Keaton as Batman and Ledger as Joker being the most famous examples. They didn´t get nearly as much fan support as Cavill is getting as Supes.

Superman: Henry Cavill
Lois Lane: Rachel McAdams or Mila Kunis
Lex Luthor: Leonardo DiCaprio or Joaquin Phoenix
Jimmy Olsen: Anton Yelchin
Perry White: Alec Baldwin or John Goodman

Funny, the two examples you gave were casting decisions I really liked. I am not speaking for all the fans who like Cavill. If I can't see Cavill as the Man of Steel, there is no proving anything wrong. I have my own opinion and views and there's different strokes for different folks. Many will probably love him as the Man of Steel. I won't be one of them.

So happy to hear this news that i've been somewhere between screaming and crying for the last 10 minutes... :D

I'm really anxious to see who the rest of the cast will be..namely, Lex, Lois, and Brainiac.

Assuming Brainiac is the main villain and not General Zod. I hope it's Brainiac though. (fingers crossed)

Being a big supporter for Welling and Manganiello, Cavill was my third pick. I am really happy to see he got the part, and have no doubts about this film what so ever at this very moment. Superman is my favorite hero, so I'm just a giddy school-girl right now. :D

Fair enough. All I´m saying is give it a shot. I been pleasantly surprised after thinking "no way" many times, it´s great when it happens.

At the very least, it´s great to see a generally optimistic feeling on these boards again.

Yup..I wouldnt be opposed if Zod were shown for a little while..I'd just rather not have him as the main villain. Just about everybody wants Brainiac.

He'll do I guess, that being said no Lex in this please. Supes has a huge villain gallery can we get a different one here please.

Just because Jaime was wrong doesn't mean he was wrong.. just his sources... cut them some slack.

So will this thread be closed now we have a Superman?

Awesome!!!

He was a fan favorite for a while maybe Snyder and WB do listen or at least like some of the suggestions and look into it themselves.

Look like there's been more of that in recent year thanks to the ol' internet.

Henry Cavill is a really good choice just hope they get him in shape. Dude looks scrawny and even when he had some mass on him he wasn't really cut.
