Yep, that's exactly what I'm saying, and I've been saying it since LOOONG before he was a Supes candidate or TSN came out, so this definitely not a case of "my candidate's better than your candidate" (plus, Joe isn't my candidate, just the only rumored one I'd be happy with). I've seen PLENTY of Hammer's work (TSN, 3 TV guest-starring roles, the lead role in "Billy"), and imo, TSN was his first decent performance (nothing great like people are making it out to be), which benefited A LOT from Fincher's 10,000 takes shooting method. And now he's lucked out in that it became the movie of the year and is currently riding its coattails into choice roles. Which happens all the time. But it won't last forever, imo, as hopefully Hollywood will catch on to what a wooden actor he really is. And if they don't he'll simply become one of those famous actors whose work I avoid like the plague, ala Keanu Reeves or Channing Tatum (though he's not AS bad as Tatum, I'll give him that).
Fincher and Eastwood have both made s*** casting decisions before, imo. As much as I love Fincher to death, I think Brad Pitt was woefully miscast in TCCoBB - couldn't believe he got an Oscar nod for that. Eastwood casting Paul Walker in Flags of Our Fathers hardly turned him into a great actor, either.
