The Official Syfy Channel Original Movie Appreciation Thread

Itd be something if SyFy decided to overhaul their entire original movie formula and go in another direction.

Right now its pretty much giant cg monster this and giant cg monster that, and while some of the movies can be fun, most of the time they suck. Although these movies might be cheap to produce, I think they should focus on spending money on smaller projects. Maybe try a slasher type of movie. Or maybe if they want something with an extraterrestial bent, maybe do a character driven movie with the alien as the central focus. Keep it as a drama with no action scenes.

Try producing movies about ghosts every now and then.

Can't they come up with anything better like Chucky Vs. Leprechaun or Critters Vs. Gremlins?

Or they can do this.

they are fun and these movies get them their highest viewership....I know people who don't watch the channel other than when these movies are on

its because they are so cheesy is why they are so popular

Or their most recent innovation: giant cg monster melded into another giant cg monster to create an uber cg monster.

Sometimes it's good just for the concept even if their execution sucks. Sometimes it just sucks. I thought the Sharktopus was hilarious but the movie could've been so much better.
