That's not a TV spot, that's a movie clip and I'm not watching ANY of those.
I wasn't sure if it was a spot or footage but he was shown around the time we got those last spots.

Has anyone figured out who the guy is that Thor is fighting , I know Thor's not up to full strength , but he's a pretty big fella

No mention of who he is really in the script, I was wondering myself.

He's Thor's version of the steriod'd up Ray Charles guy from Batman'89...ok.

Those clips do a pretty good job at keeping him in the shadows so you don't get a very good look at him , but with Hawkeye perched above , was just curious if he's Avenger related , or at least S.H.I.E.L.D related

I'm really curious if it is the Ulty Power man and they're just not saying anything

The Guardian - 3/5 (Positive albeit middling)
http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2011/apr/19/thor-film-review-kenneth-branagh?INTCMP=SRCH
I'd hesitate to call this a good film, exactly. It's overlong and all over the place. The sets are tacky and the script is skittish. Some of the supporting players (most notably a stricken Stellan Skarsgård) appear poignantly all at sea. But there's something weirdly charming about it just the same. Branagh has knocked his film together with a terrific, freewheeling gusto. It has its tongue in its cheek and the fun is infectious. For all of its faults, Thor's never a bore.

so not a bad review yet? Well aside from the dude who gave it a C+ because he doesn't like superhero movies. For the record, that should be a 'fresh' on rottentomatoes. :yay:

That one and the one linked above you from the Guardian are the two most negative, and neither one is fully down on the movie. I don't know RT's criteria for determining fresh/rotten in the borderline cases though.

I think the reviewers determine whether it's positive or negative once they submit them.

3/5 should be fresh. I liked the review from The Guardian. The reviewer seemed to want to dislike the film, but was unable to actually do so :awesome:

See, that's what I was sort of talking about the other day. Some of these guys including "professional" critics go in HATING a film. I just think if you don't like a film you shouldn't comment on it because you already decided you don't like it.

Not that I'm complaining about these guys, it's their opinion, what they think.

Yep, and even that one is a slightly positive review :word:

It's the under 30 kids that didn't know of RDJ or only knew of his drug issues. The guy was always the charismatic rogue in the crap load of movies I saw him in growing up.

Disagree. His drug issues never overshadowed his talent. I remember when he joined Ally McBeal, which is where most under 30s would have seen him, and got praise for his performance. All the hype was around the fact he was back, then he relapsed.

My one concern and the thing I don't like in superhero movies, is the need to include humor?

Why do we need humor in a superhero movie, especially one like Thor? I think that's why we see some comments about it being cheesy.

I want my superhero movies serious, hardcore and action packed! Leave the comedy for the smurfs!

What's wrong with humor? It looks like the film has good fish out of water humor, and it fits. Thor is a fish out of water.

Because if they did that , you would lose a large chunk of your audience , no movie studio is going to spend 160 million dollars on a film that would only market a certain group of people

 Every movie has humor, I can't think of one without.
