Sounds like people like it overall, but Thor's lesson in humility seems rushed. But at least the Asgard seems don't seem as hokey as I had worried about.

Well, the thing is, if they could have someone like Tony Stark reform his ways within the timespan that he was given, then I guess it could be believable that Thor could do the same.

Just read this review from "The Vine"
Warning....plenty of spoilers are mentioned.....but they loved the movie!

"More broadly, though, Thor has a real emotional depth - it's unusually soulful for a superhero film. Yes, Christopher Nolan's Batman efforts had a similar sensitivity, though it came from a darker and, thus, ultimately less interesting place; Thor is more bittersweet. There's a hopefulness to the film, particularly its ending, that verges on elegiac.

A winning blend of thrill and feeling, respect and irreverence, Thor lifts Marvel's movie stocks considerably"

Wow, just WOW! The reviews are really pouring in now and most are very positive but, again, I don't want to read too much. I really didn't know the premiere was tonight. I thought I had until late in the week to avoid spoilers and until after Easter before I started to get jacked up. This speeds all that up! Again, WOW!

A few of the more recent reviews posted have really been great. I certainly hope that continues :awesome:

I don't think there's any need to panic about The Destroyer fight, because the reviews are only saying it's a bit short compared to fights in Asgard and Jotunhiem

So I don't think it'll be nearly as short as the Whiplash fight in Iron Man 2, or even Iron Monger's for that matter.

Turn off the snark-o-meter, and this is a return to form for Marvel, introducing a new hero we’ll be happy to see again in, oh, about a year or so.

The thing that I get from these reviews, on a personal level, is that this film will be, by far my favorite of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's just a hunch.

While it's still too early for a consensus yet, I think we can breath a huge sigh of relief that this will not be a "Fantastic Four" type disaster. This film should easily be in Star Trek territory, and hopefully can join the 300 million club domestically with the other Iron Man films. With the 3D is has a chance to do even better as well!

This should take some pressure off Captain America, although so far, I've loved what I've seen of that film as well, and hopefully both movies will be in the top 5 grossing films of the year.

I agree TS. From the early reviews, it seems as though Marvel may go 4 for 4 in terms of positive critical and commercial reaction. this has me very excited.

Well Thor's at 86% on RT with 6 positive and one negative. However, there 3 others listed there that I'm pretty sure are all positive(I've read them) but they just haven't been tallied as such yet. So really it's like at 90% right now. I'd say the percentage will be locked to within going plus or minus 5% of what it's ultimate total will be once we have about another 15 reviews in there. After the 1st 25 reviews, not much more movement hardly ever occurs.

In the superhero genre, that's unheard of for any single studio(I think, gotta check to be sure). And it could very well end up 5 for 5 by the end of the summer.

No, it's unheard of. The only other studios are WB, Fox, and Sony. The others were obscure film companies that made mediocre films like 1990 Captain America and 1994 Fantastic Four. They all had stinkers, but Marvel so far hasn't been disastrous. As of right now, I'm going to go as far as to say Thor won't be disastrous, which has me very happy.

Hey thanks for the link, I wrote that review. Keep your eyes on the site as I interviewed Tom Hiddleston and Jaime Alexander today and I'll have the video up on the site by tomorrow at the latest.

Cool Can't wait David! Welcome aboard!

I'm close to tears with these reviews, such a fanboy. I'm just so happy for Thor, about to hit the big time with the general audience. He's been a big time for a long time for comic nerds, but he is not too well known with the average joe. I'm glad that his time has finally come, with a movie that just might be better than Iron Man 1. Marvel Studios, thank you for sharing these wonderful characters to the big screen.
