The Official TIH Preview Thread

Sounds very promising, seeing as the author was quite apprehensive to begin with.

IESB goes down to Universal Studios for an edit bay visit with director Louis Leterrier, producers Kevin Feige and Gale Anne Hurd and get a sneak peak at the all new Incredible Hulk!

He's big, he's ugly and he is easily the most powerful superhero in the Marvel Universe, will The Incredible Hulk be able to smash the memories of Ang Lee's disaster in 2003?

Marvel and Universal Studios were kind enough to invite the IESB along with a select group of press to down to Universal Studios to sit down with director Louis Leterrier and producers Kevin Feige and Gale Anne Hurd to check out some key select scenes of the new Hulk adaptation coming to theaters June 13th.

Late last year, the IESB reviewed the shooting script that Edward Norton wrote and absolutely loved it. The story had everything we were missing the first time around and more. There was blood, sweat, tears and plenty of KICKIN' ASS in that story. Read the review and story details here (Spoilers).

Now, how did that compare with what we saw during our visit to the edit bay?

There is a strict embargo for the next few days and we will post our complete report including the interviews with the director and producers as soon as we are allowed.

But, we have been given the green light to share with our readers a short preview of what we saw. In three words or less…HULK SMASH GOOD!

The big green guy looks great, sounds great and is definitely BAD ASS!

I hated Ang Lee's take on the big green guy and wasn’t too sure if Marvel's decision to re-launch the franchise was a good idea. However, after watching four clips during our visit to the edit bay today, I have to tell you, I'm excited and I can't wait to see the completed film!

Looks like we've got little to worry about this time around!

Also in case you missed it, the official HULK site has fully launched! Widgets, images, videos, games and much more! Plus, there's a link for "HULK CONNECT," it is listed as "Coming Soon" so check back for that to go live!

Special thanks to Marvel and Universal Studios for giving the IESB a sneak peak at The Incredible Hulk!

Head over to IncredibleHulk.com to check out all the goodies!

HULK fans stay tuned to the IESB for our complete report from the edit bay on the Universal lot for THE INCREDIBLE HULK!

Latinoreview, joblo and iesb all seem to be echoing the same sentiment. Hopefully this is just the beginning of what will truly make this movie the hit that Hulk wasn't: positive buzz. The same thing that put Iron Man over the top.

I'm seeing alot more early positive buzz on this film than the first film. Now, let's just hope Universal is smart enough this time around to make sure no workprint gets out, and if it does, shut down any site posting a review. Thats a big screw up on their part last time. I dont want to see them act like something like that wouldn't effect word of mouth again.

It's gonna take positive word-of-mouth for this film to be a hit (and I desperately want it to be--my wife says I'm obsessed). A friend of mine demonstrated hesitation when I mentioned the film to him last night. Even though he knows about the movie, the thought of Ang's film is still sour in his mind. Although we both thought Hulk was cinematically well-done, it just wasn't what people were expecting.

Um...I don't get it. I didn't make the movie. I'm only reporting on what they showed me and what they showed me looked really really cool.

And Golgo, you need like a hobby or something. You cant say everyone of those movies I reviewed sucked. It's a matter of opinion, and not every reviewer trashed those films. A lot of people on here liked the FF movies, but I hated them. Some liked Ghost Rider, but I hated it. Just because I gave Iron Man a rave review and talked about the five minutes that I saw of Hulk doesn't make me some raving reviewer. :whatever:

I honestly don't see how S.H.H. is still around: You bring good news and people kick you in the junk and act like it's YOUR fault that they don't like it.

Nice.

El Guapo, you're the man! Keep your head up, dude!

Being far more savage than ang's isn't really that big a deal, ang's hulk wasn't particularly savage and went out of his way to cause little damage and that's only when he was annoyed by those pursuing him. If you put anyone in a desert to cause a fight, you are bound to have minimal destruction.

meh

Right.
Hulk = savage.
Ang's Hulk = not savage.
LL's Hulk = savage.

Even more reason to dislike Ang's interpretation.
Thanks for pointing that out!

Meh, indeed.

Whenever the topic of TIH comes up with my friends I always try to remind them of the fact that this movie has no connection to 03 Hulk...except y'know the main character. I think I'm doing a good job, not that it will make a huge impact but I still feel good doing it.

Thanks man. I'm just a fan of these films like everyone else and I'm happy they're finally being made. Good or bad films, that's up to each individual, but at least we're all getting to see them on the big screen!!

Uh...I never reviewed Transformers. Nor did I ever do an early review of it. Are you confusing me with someone else??? I mean, I did actually call Transformers the worst movie of 2007. (Ok, no need to bash me on here. I know a lot of people liked it.)

I like you already. :woot:

Hey Godzilla2000, what did you think of the first Hulk movie in 2003?

Lol, if Indy doesn't blow Iron Man out of the water I don't know what will. If you think it's only for the old folks you are wrong on so many accounts.

I guess I'll stay in the Minority on this one, but I still dont feel Indy will be as huge as some think it might be, for a couple of reasons, but namely the fact that it has been 15 or so years. After the Mummy's and the National Treasures, which inexplicably took Indy's basic premise and butchered it, Indy himself just may not be all that new and fresh anymore because of it. Also with word starting to surface that those diehard fans that waited those long years aren't overly happy with the film, I just don't know how big it may actually be. Whoever didn't love Indy to begin with won't be checking this out, unlike Ironman, who I'd bet the majority of the audience weren't even familiar with (or Downey Jr for that matter)

I watched it, and why oh why did I spend eight bucks? The movie had the initial Indy traits and then went south after the first fifthteen minutes. We got Classic Indy mixed with some parody, rehashed choice of villians, a page out of the Mummy and then a
freakin space ship!
What a piece of **** that was! George Lucas has lost his touch for being a good writer, Steven looked as though he was asleep behind the camera and they kept going back to shots of gophers. This aint caddyshack! Two thumbs down. No way can this hold a candle to Iron Man or would give the Hulk any comp whatsoever!

Just saw Indy..I was really excited for this one and though not bad, it wasn't on par with any of the originals, certainly. I don't think it will top Iron Man's BO, and I don't think it will pose the slightest of lingering threat when June 19 rolls around either.

June 13th? Hulk will smash puny Indy!

Sorry..I'm going skydiving for the first time on July 19th, so 19th is on my mind. lol. seriously. Good thing Hulk comes out before. I'd hate for my chute not to open and be thinking, "Damn..I never got to see The Incredible Hulk". lol

I must say, I'm pretty impressed with that cgi, save for the very last cut.

Two clips on the same day? Get that **** outta here. But him smashing the police car was very nice.

A-Bomb got knocked the **** out!
