Shia OBVIOUSLY had to say TF2 and TF1 were great films when he was promoting them. Now in retrospect he has time to sit back and really analyze the film, and for him to say hes dissapointed in TF2 I really respect that. Not many actors will admit when the movie they were in did a crap job. Even WHEN it did good in the box office. That means he doesnt just care about the paycheck he really seems to want to partake in quality films.

i remember that he said that he wouldnt do a 3rd movie after FOX and every movie expert knew that they will not make a third.

It wasn't just about returning for a third film but his thoughts on the second film and he wasn't happy with it. He was saying something about he thought they would have done something different with it.

To be completely honest the first Transformers wasn't a bad film at all. What ruined TF2 was the ending battle where you didn't know who was who, the over the top and constantly re used jokes and Leo.

I thought the first film did a decent job of mixing the few jokes it had with the seriousness of it. In the final battle(which was awesome in the first film) we didn't have interruptions during the battle with "under the enemies scrotum" or any crap like that. They kept it serious.

my only gripe with the final battle in ROTF is that it's TOO DAMN LONG. Had it been about a good 5 minutes shorter, it woud've made the world of difference

The problem is that THE final battle in ROTF between Optimus and the Fallen was way too short; the Fallen was built up as this awesome villain, and even got his name in the movie title, and he got defeated by Optimus in a matter of minutes. I was extremely disappointed to see Optimus just "woke up", fused with Jetfire, and proceed to clean house. It also didn't help the fact that we had a weak Devastator earlier and a bunch of Constructicon drones who didn't add any tension to the scene whatsoever.

Possibly in ANY action movie that is the best fight scene, although Bumblebee vs Rampage gets my heart racing almost as much and is almost as good IMO.

But yeah, the final battle in TF1 overall was better, it just gelled better.

I love Sideswipe's introduction. They have to give him more to do in the 3rd movie. I think he's the coolest looking of all the robots so far and he's a total badass. t:

It was a huge mistake to kill him off, imo. What would've made ROTF better is that they kept him around and showed him taking command after Optimus died.

Or a big victory if you think about it. Megan Fox is not a draw. She's not the only reason people go to these movies.

Elementary schoolers aren't going to avoid the movie because Megan Fox is gone.

Agreed, seems quite in line with how he is in the comics also, its a shame we never got more of him, or that his brother wasnt included.

Definately, they shouldnt have killed him off at all, one of the most popular TF's, I love all his scene's in the first movie, especially his last stand against Megatron. It would have been better if Megatron had beaten him to an inch of his life, then Prime shows up, instead of what happened.

He would have been out of the rest of the battle but still alive. He would have been awesome in the 2nd movie, and it would have been great to see him still not scared of Megatron even after the beating he took.

I dont think it was a minority death, it was in the script because Kurtzman and Orci though his death would get the biggest reaction from fans. But it was a huge mistake, he is one of the best TF characters, not to mention of the most likeable and bad-ass.

Jetfire was another they shouldnt have killed off, he is another great character or i'm sure would have shaken off his oldness with a bit of Energon to become an integral part of the Autobots and his normal self in a 3rd movie also. It is a real shame both of them are dead, especially to me as they are both in my top 5 favourite Autobots, now all I need is Ultra Magnus to die in TF3 and i'll be on the verge of suicide! .
