so 8 animated series, all with pretty different interpretations of the Transformers....and yet the films are demonized for their designs??

Peaking of the cartoons. I own all seasons of: G-1, TF the movie, BEAST WARS, BEAST MACHINES, ENERGON, CYBERTRON, and all of TF animated, minus season 3.

Does anyone know when R.I.D. and ARMADA comes out on DVD in the U.S? Also Season 3 of Animated?

I don't even wanna watch it online, I like my DVDs

there are some DVDs of Armada out there I think, not sure if they released the whole run

they released the entire Armada series, I have that along with all of Energon, Cybertron, G1, and Animated: Season's 1 and 2 (once they release 3 I'll pick that up as well).

BTW; anyone know if they plan on releasing season 3 of Transformers Animated? It's been nearly two years since the release of Season 2.

Forget Ratchet and Ironhide, we never even got a good LOOK at Jolt.

I mean, why create a whole new character if you don't even get to SEE him? Sideways was reasonable because we got a great look at him in vehicle mode, and the scene he was in he was running away. Jolt was only referenced by name once, and we never got a good shot of him.

I hope he has a bigger role in the third.

Who cares what the new Autobots are... they aint gonna be anything like their cartoon versions anyway

Prime, Bumblebee, Jazz, Sideswipe, Ironhide and Ratchet have all been pretty spot on so far, we just havent had the chance to get to know most of them.

I don't really understand why some people thought Jazz was racist. I thought he was really cool. He had tons of character, and the most personality. Clint Eastbot is second.

What are you talking about? The G1 cartoon IS the source material. It's were the comics, all other animated incarnations and the movies stem from.

I like how in this scene Ratchet and Ironhide talk about whether they should leave the planet. Watching it for the first time i thought that we were gonna get some character development and see the two veterans take the lead and try to do something about the decepticons and the unfriendly humans.
But instead, pantless Torturo and fart jokes ensued.

Other than Prime and Bee, I think none of the other Autobots really got looked at.

The reason why Jolt was in for so little screen time was because the car company wanted to put him in at the last minute to promote the car.

So he wasnt really in the story when they filmed the movie.

Anyway, thats a concept art for the second movie. And since Devastator is dead, he probably wont be appearing for the third movie. But who knows, didnt Bonecrusher appear in the second movie>?

actually the original toy line is the first source material....but it really doesn't matter what came first as 8 DIFFERENT animated series have borne the name 'Transformers' prior to any film coming out....i have an 8 yr old nephew who's grown up on Transformers Armada and Transformers Cybertron.....you tell him about 'source material'

Again, I'm not picking on you, Blacklantern... but...

Go over to the Spider-man boards and say "Spider-man reboot should be based on ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN!"

Most of them will go into a fit of anger and disagree strongly.

Just because it has Spider-man in the title doesnt mean people want the movie to be based of it.

Same for Transformers, sure there are alot of great cartoons like Armada and even Beast Wars, but shouldnt the G1 aspect be done right first, before moving on to other things?

**** G1....the movies, IMO, are their own entity and have the approval of Hasbro....which own the damn franchise

Hasbro is even including the new game 'War for Cybertron' in canon

From my understanding, Hasbro has no say over what happens in the movies. They just make the toys.

then you would be wrong....prior to the first film being started, Bay and his team went to Hasbro and what Hasbro called "Transformers University" and keep a good relationship with them, they have been kept in the loop on both films and even saw the scripts prior to filming

if they had any issue with the films, Im pretty sure someone would have said something by now
