Okay! That's it! Shows over. Bay has returned to his old tricks
In a perfect world, Bay would be a beggar on the street and only people like Chris Nolan, Martin Scorsese etc would be allowed to make films

I bet he sounds German and spouts E=MC^2 every 5 minutes cuz THAT'S LIKE EINSTEIN & STUFF!!

that is probably the most elitist and ignorant post Ive read....this morning:oldrazz:

we have all different kinds of movies for a reason...good ones, bad ones, silly ones, serious ones....so that we can appreciate the truly great ones

you all act like Bay has committed some great crime when in reality, he probably does a lot more for the industry (both in front and behind the camera) then a lot of other directors

- He strives to keep production in the United States so crews here have jobs

- He always comes in on time or on/under budget

- He has managed to get unprecedented access with the US military and some countries that he has shot it....those copters in ROTF were actual Jordanian military (one of their military commanders is a big fan)

- every film he has put out (for the exception of The Island) has been a serious financial success...The Island made money, but when compared to everything else...its meh

now if you don't like his films, fine....but its getting a little ridiculous...you make it seem like "Transformers" (a toy line) should be some sort of masterful high theater when at its base element its giant robots fighting each other

in short, take your Ivory Tower and cram it....or go watch Memento on a continous loop and jack it....:yay:

- I agree with Bay's Workers Union movement but it's not like every other director keeps production solely abroad. I bet Bay doesn't even care about the crew beyond making himself look good

- He always comes in on time or on/under budget
- OOH! Micheal Bay! Big money saving hero of the industry. Again, some stay within budget and some others go over too. The production process is volatile. Going over budget may not be as bad if the returns are solid

- He has managed to get unprecedented access with the US military and some countries that he has shot it....those copters in ROTF were actual Jordanian military (one of their military commanders is a big fan)
And? Big deal. Even if it's a great achievement, how does that change the quality of his films?

- every film he has put out (for the exception of The Island) has been a serious financial success...The Island made money, but when compared to everything else...its meh
- The Twilight series and MOVIE movies have been financial successes too. I don't see anyone praising them like this.

That's the twist. In a Perfect World, everyone would have jobs with a decent income, films would only be made for the art and financial success wouldn't necessarily matter.

Also, so what if Bay has access to the military?

The problem is that I TOO want robots fighting each other. Except Bay goes a step further and has the winner teabag the opponent HALO style. It's the second part that repulses and disgusts me and we could do without

it's not perfect...so we all have to live with varying quality of films....

without money, you can't make other films....how do you propose to pay film crews...with integrity and heartfelt notes about their work ethic??

those big stupid movies that Bay makes allows Paramount to finance other smaller movies and take more risk

good example....I absolutely hate 'American Idol', I think its probably the worst thing to happen to TV since Springer, but the revenue it brings in allows Fox to maybe greenlight a good show (The Good Guys, Lie To Me) that normally wouldn't get a second glance

Also, so what if Bay has access to the military?

if you're doing a film that has the military in it, or some component of it...it definitely helps in terms of getting equipment for use, access, personnel

the ship I was stationed on was used for exterior shots on "Pearl Harbor", they bought on the old school bombers and launched them off....they sent us out for 4 days and filmed

The problem isn't that Bay makes explosion filled, moronic films.
The 80's were full of films like that, some of which are remembered as CLASSICS
The problem is the kind of stuff he puts in his films which gives the illusion that he just doesn't care about anything. He puts a lot of crap, nonsense and general UGLINESS in his films that really disgust me.

Side note; Apparently consumption of pot (Sam's mom) turns you drunk
Transformers 2 had EPIC MOVIE level of humor.

I don't disagree, but it's hardly the crimes against humanity you're making it out to be

do you need a hug?

it's ok, AB.....shhhh it's ok

I'm still waiting for "Switching Channels" to be released on DVD, but that's probably never going to happen

so we can be sad together

Nelson of SFTE has dropped another little snippet of info...

Rosie Huntington-Whitely is playing..... Carly..

He posted this in a thread on SFTE about the unkind reaction a section of 'fans' have made towards RH-W...
I personally like Carly, I mean, Rosie.

well I didn't care about Mikayla all that much, so I really don't see that changing for this chick

Why has there been an unkind reaction? I mean I liked the little Sam/Mikala love story in the first but it's obvious Bay sees the female lead in most of his movies as the hot piece of ass he can film in soft porn style.

They may be going to explore how Sam's character has moved on as he's become an adult, and changed from his trailer park sweetheart to a supermodel armpiece now he has a job and what this says about our society as a whoile............but probably not. :woot:

^^ Yup, or at least the shallow idea that trading up is anything more superficial societal rules.

Still think, as Fox isn't appearing at all, that Mikaela will be dead at the start of TF3.... thats how i'd do it anyway...

Knowing Bay he'll probably write something more salcious than just a death.

This is how I see it:

Opening scene
Sam happy in college. Sam meets new girl. Sam says one line about losing Mikaela.
Father and Mother meet new girl and say how they like the new girl more than Mikaela.
Mikaela's is thrown in a hole in the ground while a Decepticon named BBbot dances to 80's music and tucks his coolant extractor and looks in the mirror.

Somewhere in the scene there will be farting or a fart joke as well as some innuendo and an explosion.

""While nothing major is revealed, Bay does continue to hint at the status of humans and Transformers:

Though Bay keeps his ''Transformers 3'' story line close to the vest, he did reveal the Chicago footage ''is at the very end of the movie and the city is under alien attack, so it's very critical and important to the film's climax.''

The scene shot Monday between Michigan and Wabash focused on ''a number of base jumpers who are part of Josh Duhamel's unit. The heroes in this movie have very few people coming to help them this time. I like to think of it as the 'Black Hawk Down' version of 'Transformers' -- it's much more intimate in terms of what's happening.

''Something very bad has happened to America -- and this is at the very end of the movie.''"

that sounds.....grim

I wonder why he picked Chicago for the climax of the film??

Maybe there is still hope for witnessing Unicron in a TF movie,I don't want TF3 to end with such a predictable ending with a Decepticon army destroying things. TWO MORE SPOILERS,NELSON FROM SHOOTFROMTHEEDIT CONFIRMED THAT ROSIE IS PLAYING CARLY,ITS NO LONGER A RUMOR,AND SAID THAT THE RED FERRARI IS NAMED RUSH!!

Confused a bit here... read the comments by Nelson on both TFW & SFTE... neither mention the name.....it's only the front page headline that has it....

EDIT--- Ah.. here we go... they didn't mention that the name appears on the SFTE front page under a shot of the Ferrari...

Here

I think he(Nelson) sort of forgot to mention it,or maybe it's confirmed in the video that he hasn't uploaded yet.
