actually, For ROTF
-they had a Superbowl spot released on the 16
-a "trailer" released on the 30th of april
-and a full theatrical released on mid to late june.

I'd say they are pretty much using the same model for this installment.
with the addition of the "announcement" piece.

I believe it was actually the superbowl spot and the teaser trailer that came out in february and the theatrical trailer on april 30th

Does anybody else think that car company's not wanting to have their car's play Decepticons because they're evil the dumbest excuse ever?

I can't imagine Mercedes & Ferrari's target demographic's destroying their expensive sports and luxury cars because there was an evil one in some dumb action movie.

Mercedes Showroom Guy: This is the new...
Customer: SHUT UP! THESE CARS ARE EVIL! DESTROY THEM! RAARRGH!!!

By that logic every car company should be making custom Tumbler's (Batmobile) because EVERYONE would buy one. And I'm sure my next door neighbor just bought a Peterblit truck.

Be nice when the trailer hits so we can start speculating again.

Barricade. Just saying. I don't buy the excuse he gave.

Same goes for Sideways, his appearance is short but nonetheless he's a decepticon and the alt mode is an Audi R8.

It's probably another mis-information campaign. the car is sound wave and that's that.

However, car companies do tend to be extremely sensitive about the way their cars are shown in media. I recall in video games that once you actually acquire a license to use real cars, they can't receive any damage or something like that.

It is an interesting social study though, I mean a while back there was talk of all the pro american car propaganda in these films and how they brainwash kids and folk into worshiping gm automobiles as muscle bound heroes. It could go both ways I suppose. I'm just glad they've finally got use cars outside GM.

Which car companies have stated that?

I know that VW has stated they dont want there cars in any fiction as machines of War, but I havent heard of any not wanting to be cons.

^ It's funny since X-Men: First Class is coming off of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and X-Men: The Last Stand. I brought that up because more people are interested in that than Dark of the Moon on this website.

Well the trailers for the movie looks great and Fox is not actually interfering with Vaughn in First Class, so it does have a chance to be good or at least better than X-3 and Origins.

Expect the hype to boost next week with the trailer's reveal...

I don't think that it will increase much, we are almost getting pretty damn closer to July 1st. Since mid 2009, there has only been 6,424 posts in this place, it's friggin' embarrassing imo. My theory is that many of the posters stopped posting because they are not 'casual' Transformers fans, hence the big drop regarding a number of posts, imo. If these people that I speak of were more forgiving, then this portion would have had more than 6,424 posts a loooooooooooooong time ago. I think. To me, it sounds like the most logical explanation for what was once a very distracting 'mystery' to me.

hehe :awesome:

Vaughn didn't have that much time to prepare since the production was rushed but I believe Fox is not interfering with him as much as they did with Hood in Origins to give an example. So anyway Transformers, super pumped for the new trailer. :woot:
