Revenge of the Fallen The official Transformers:Revenge Of The Fallen movie critics review thread

Optimus in the first film had one great scene as the badass warrior he is known as in the mythology . And that was his fight with Bonecrusher . His fight with MEGATRON was pathetic. He was thrown around like a ragdoll by Megatron , that's not Prime . Now that preview clip of the forest battle PRIME vs. MEGATRON in ROTF, Optimus appears to not only to be holding his own against Megs, Starscream & Blackout. But he's doing it with style .
Hear!! Hear!! Optimus will be at his fighting best, better than ever!!
This is going to be an awesome movie, we the fans decide that, not critics or reviews. I say we show our support:applaudfor :trans:!!!!!!!!!!! and not let a few critics decide for us what is a good movie or if we should see it at all. Bring on the ROBOTS!! Lots and lots of them for 147 minutes.

also from that same review..(i think this whole review was a good read as well)

^^ but i guess he's in a minority as well.....cuz according to some of u...the fighting scenes could be seen just fine....

it's a matter of preference

just about everyone can comprehend the action

it's just a lot of people want to see more

(for any side to claim they're right will just be another subjective argument that goes in circles)

a lot of people just don't like immersive shooting
which I personally credit to Katherine Bigalow, whose hand held tracking of the foot chase in Point break started it all

the what fight scenes are shot in the bourne ultimatum are pretty much what you would see if you were in a fight of that caliber

Batman Begins is an example of nolan trying it for story purposes (apparently that's what criminals experience when batman assults you) but he just used it at the wrong time and the whole film was intensely incoherent

In TF when sam has the cube, it's gets very intense (not BB intense) but story wise any time sam was close to the action it was a (good) directing choice to show the action from his perspective

when optimus killed bone crusher is was mostly shot the way bay shoots his other "incoherent" films, which is simply powerful and clear

either way I assume this movie will be more of the same, love it hate it action

I also believe the critics are praising the forest fight just because in the same review they dismiss the rest of the film:o
good old **** sandwich

Its cute you can call me one of the few chaseter, but its hard to get invested when the Autobots and Decepticons barely had any characterization and all and most of them did very little in the movie.

Yeah, God forbid people thought some of the action in other movies was better put together.

Well don't call people delusional if they disagree with you, then you won't get acerbic responses will ya?

The fact is you are in the minority, nothing wrong with that at all though. But don't get all pissy about it.

And I for one like the use of "shakey cam" or whatever you wanna call it. Makes it look like it is being filmed by a journalist right in the heat of battle or something.

You think if you was standing out on the street, in the midst of one of these battles you would see everything clearly? Of course not.

Now if you prefer that immersive, visceral technique or not is entirely down to personal opinion. It isn't "bad" camera work.

Without context action scenes lack any suspense or tension and are simply random flashes and noises with nothing at stake.

No one cares about what the Decepticons want because the plot is poorly contrived. Nobody cares about who has the advantage in the fights because the camera work is confusing. Nobody cares about who dies because the Transformers are barely distinguishable. No one cares about anything and the Transformers are reduced to soulless monsters.

Big, dumb, and loud can carry a movie so far before people need something compelling. A genuine action movie has patron glued to their seat waiting for the outcome, not covering their ears looking at their watches.

What do you mean "nobody"? You haven't got the right to say that.

Face facts, you guys who despise the Transformers movies are in the minority.

And the Transformers are distinguishable. If you didn't know that was Jazz who got ripped in half in the first one then you are a ****ing moron.

To quote Optimus Primal ..."NOW THAT'S JUST PRIME" !!!! I can't wait for ROTF now .

Me neither, not that I disliked Prime in the first movie, but its nice to know he is more inline with his cartoon and comic book self. In the comics he takes on everybody, Megatron, Sixshot, Nova Prime, Galvatron, cant wait to see him do the same in TF2.

I had absolutely no problem telling who was who either, honestly dont get that criticism.

It isn't a valid criticism. It's just cooked up by the haters because they have run out of valid criticisms.

That simply means they're passable entertainment. There is still wasted potential.

Because Jazz spoke ebonics as he attacked Megatron.

That's not a fact, maybe in this forum. But outside this forum, even on the home page where you're allow'd to make comments about SHH news..there are people who didnt like/or had some issues with TF1...and have voiced their opinions..just cuz they are not on this forum or visual to you..doesn't mean anyone is in minority...

they are not(people) who didnt like it cuz they are delusional, just being whiney critics, out of touch, taken things and scenes too serious or in the minority...they are just like you, just they didnt care for the film..plan n simple.

this right here i agree with...and is exactly what's going on now...eventhough i dont care who likes the film or dislikes it..i think both sides have legitmate points and should be accept'd and respect'd..

Um... you may want to take a look at DVD and BluRay sales for the first film. I never quote box office numbers (though the number of repeat viewings on the first film were damn impressive) as they can be misleading as to the public's opinion on a film. However, the ancillary sales on the first film are staggering. Meaning, people loved it and they wanted to own it to experience it again and again.

You are, indeed, in the minority if you hate on the first film. It's a fact. It's science.

People on internet forums like these are the minority compared to the rest of the people on this planet. You take every single person who posts on a movie forum on the planet then compare them to the rest of the world. We are the minority. FACT.

I beg to differ...

ahh...yeah that's kind of obvious.. i was referring to you...i never used this forum as THE PLANETS opinion. Thnkx

Well then what are you arguing about?

The people that hate on these films are in the minority. If you guys were the majority, then the BO numbers wouldn't be so impressive and the DVD/Blu-Ray sales wouldn't be so impressive.

i made my points before..u don't have to agree with them...i'm not going back into this again....u see it how u want..but i'll continue to post..u chose if u wanna ignore me or not.

I didn't say WHY are you arguing. I said WHAT are you arguing about because you just completely contradicted yourself.

I said you was in the minority. You then said that by look around other forums you feel you are not. I then said everyone on all forums on the internet is the minority compared to the rest of the world. You agreed.

So yea, what are you arguing about?

The MAJORITY of the general public, people who don't post on internet forums, the MAJORITY of people, CLEARLY liked this film. The numbers don't lie.

I haven't got a problem with you hating it.

I have a problem with you claiming that the haters are the majority. Because it's not true.
