Revenge of the Fallen The Official Transformers: ROTF DVD/Bluray Thread

By the way, Bay just posted on his official site...Transformers 3, July 1st, 2011....

...He's not waiting it seems.

Welllll, ROTF did make alot of money...

^He said he was going to have a break though which may have been a benefit giving them more time to get a story together.

Anyway, anyone know if the UK will be getting the Imax version of the movie on Blu-ray.

Blu ray edition is not the IMAX cut, with switching aspect ratios. A leak has hit the net and its been confirmed on a couple of forums that its not the IMAX cut.

I have one of the BRRips (though i will definitelly buy the movie when it comes out). From what i've seen the movie has a few extra clips, like the IMAX edition. As for the IMAX effect of having a widder image, isn't that lost when encoding this kind of video file? Isn't the aspect ratio of the file fixed, causing the widening screen effect to be lost? I'm no specialist but that's how i understand it. The source BR disc may have that effect but its lost in the encoding process.

so, we are still UNCLEAR whether or not the Bluray release will have the IMAX scenes

Looks like we have to wait till the retail release... even if someone finds a BRRip and it has IMAX scenes in it, it doesnt mean the extra scenes are switching ratios like TDK

switching ratios is the only way to see the imax scenes

Err... i havent watched TDK wit switching ratios, so is there really a difference? It seems like in normal Blu-ray mode, the visual is fantastic, and it can go further into IMAX mode? :wow:

If you have the TDK Bluray, and you don't see the switching ratio........ then you definately have a pirated copy.

Errr... i dont have TDK Bluray either, haha... but i saw the displays in a TV store... Blu Ray is def better than DVD! ;)

it's a big difference. the whole screen fills up, showing the top and bottom, and what is even more interesting is that it's much much clearer, especially in day light city shots.

So, had everybody confirmed that only Walmart will carry the Bluray with IMAX shots?? That is strange nonetheless

^Thanks for posting that link, didnt know Asda were owned by Walmart so as a UK fan that makes me feel a bit at ease, still cant believe they are doing this though.

Only Wal-mart gets IMAX footage?

LAME.

What Target and Best Buy will have?

Man... this is a good time to get a Blu Ray player...
but for me - nah!

I have the blu ray version of Revenge of the Fallen, and I hate to be the one to disappoint everyone but it does not have the IMAX version on it and aspect ratio does not change like the The Dark Knight version...

Still amazing picture quality and a great movie if you're a fan of the film but I was saddened to see that its not the extended version...

The IMAX footage is a Wal-Mart exclusive.

The extended footage is only like 30 seconds... i wont go the extra mile to get it.

I just saw G.I. Joe.......... people must be crazy to think GI Joe was better than TF2. TF2 was way better.

GI Joe sucked arse, really bad. Even the action sequence where soooo stupid, and terribly CGI.

^ agreed, it looked too much like a made for tv movie from the sci-fi channel, lol, but that's not my biggest gripe with the film, it's what they done to the good ol commander, I let changes slide in TF1&2 but I couldn't accept what they done in the live action G.I.Joe movie.

That's what I was thinking with G.I.Joe it's like they made tons more changes and disregarded whether they were following the cartoon or comic continuity and to think Larry Hama was hired as consultant.
