has anyone brought up the fact of whether this animated movie is going to be in series with x-men evolution which looks like it may be it's own little spin off of ultimate x-men in its future timeline?

I think these Marvel DVDs are going to be huge. I hope they do more than what they plan.

Hopefully they expand to the X-MEN, Daredevil, The Fantastic Four, and Hulk. Sure they have live action movies coming out and in the works with some of those titles but that doesn't matter, I'd like to see stories from the comics come to life that I know won't be done in the live action movies 'cause they don't have the imagination for it. There's too much of an attitude about comic movies now where everyone wants to dull them down and put everyone in black leather. It's stupid and pathetic.

I want to see my fave heroes come to life, not some bastardized version.

I saw the movie. I was disappointed, to be honest. Maybe I expected too much. The animation wasn't good enough. The art is fine, but they didn't move smoothly. Another thing that irritates me is the voice-acting. I couldn't take them seriously. This should have been better than the JL(U), but it doesn't hold a candle against it.

Here's hoping the next DVD's will be much better. I'm looking forward to Iron Man.

Just saw it adn I'm not really sure what to think. The animation is ok, could have been a little smoother here and there. The voice acting could have been better but wasn't very disrubtive either. All in all I think it's a good first movie from Marvel, one to learn from. If they do so, the next movies (let's hope there will be many) will defianatly be something to look forward to.

oh btw, highlight: the sound of Cap's shield. You always see him throw the thing around in the comics. Really fun to hear the thing.

just watched it. didn't love it. it wasn't really bad, but it's really nothing special. as most said, the animation and flow of movement is bad, the voices are okay (nothing great like, say, Kevin Conroy as Bats), and the character design is obviously based on the X-Men Evolution style, which wouldn't really be a bad thing if we weren't talking about The Ultimates (f**k "Ultimate Avengers". it's The Ultimates).

it was mostly disappointing (as opposed to just plain bad), because The Ultimates deserved a lot more. this wasn't realistic and it wasn't epic AT ALL.

I mean,

they play up the whole threat of the Chitauri and when all's said and done, they go down pretty easy and they have a harder time dealing with Hulk.

Thor's appearance during the battle with the Chitauri

was pretty disappointing. they could've built that moment at least a little. but no, it just happened, one second to another.

again, it's not really bad, it just... is. it could, and should, have been a lot better.

personally, Marvel should've really invested in this. I mean, The Ultimates has "blockbuster" written all over it. with longer running time (and improving the script), better voice actors, with full blown 3D animation of Final Fantasy quality, to really capture the awesomeness of Bryan Hitch's art... THAT is an Ultimates movie I can support.

I think basing a movie so closely to a comic that is well loved by the majority is bound to let people down...

especially when toning it down for the younger audience.

marvels' cartoons will never reach the quality of dc's, that's a fact.

true but it looks like it's animated in a similar fashion, it may be possible for a potential cameo to happen, especially since the future timeline of the evolution kids look like their ultimate counterparts.

That's because Ultimate Avengers were animated by the same production company that animated X-Men Evolution. I doubt the universes are connected.

and let me say
it ****ign rules
animation as you all know is top notch, voice acting great

its serious, dramatic, has a lto of action

the fights are great

it reallty pics up when hulk enters the film

when hulk fights all the avengers it is the best thing ever! thor puts up a pretty sweet fight, but gets knocked in the head by his own hammer-HIS OWN ****ING HAMMER!

Cap tosses a few punches and it all looks good.

iron man-rude,rich,drinking=hardcore tony stark, ass kicker!

giant man-never heard of him, funny guy, he doesn't hit janet but they argue like crazy, he's pretty cool, hulk ****es him up

wasp-same as her husband, i liked the whole her and cap thing which made giant man jealous, her power is a little lame, but she did what she did and i look foward to her in the sequel.

hulk-if u hated them ovie u'll love this
if u loved the movie, u'll love this

What more could you ask for?
To those who are complaining about the animation,what did you expect?
This is a straight to DVD animated movie.Did you expect maybe japanimation?
It also isn't fair to compare this to JLU because the DCAU has been around longer and has a larger fan base.This is the first movie from Marvel/Lions Gate.Another fact is that JLU is a series.In a series there are episodes which focus on certain characters you get to see how they develop and interact with the other characters and there are plots and sub-plots which continue onward until the season ends which is much more consistant than a movie because with a movie you have to wait for a sequel(In ULt.Avengers case of course)

I wouldn't even call it a fair comparison. 90% of the animated DCU wipes the floor with this thing...

Bruce timm and co are what made dc snimated universe so great. Now that they've moved away from him and it will go down the pan. Look at the batman and teen titans, they suck. Can't beat the original Batman TAS

tim and dini are consistent buy i would rival the best of the titans, jackie chan adventures and the tmnt against any of the dcau eps...
