The Dark Knight Rises The Official "What Do YOU Want in the Sequel?" Thread

-I really want a Batman film like Batman Begins in terms of it being about Batman, but I want it as big as The Dark Knight. I think that it will capture the best of both worlds.
-Wayne Manor Rebuilt
-The Batcave
-Batmobile, Tumbler with newer functionality like we saw it in the beginning of TDK. (Loiter, Intimidate)
-Graveyard Scene with Batman in full costume
-Scarecrow a bit longer than in TDK
-I am not so keen to having one main Villain. Also, the more I read fan speculation, the less I become interested in seeing Riddler or Catwoman. I like the idea of having a handful of villains that may or may not out do one another on screen, but I take note in "at the rate this city's inhabitants are losing their minds, they'll be doubling up." So let the freaks come out.
-Sarah Essen, if done right. Although I want a BATMAN film, it would be nice in the midst of everything Bruce/Batman are dealing with, for Gordon to have problems himself, aside from working alongside a fugitive.
-More Bruce Wayne. At this point, He will need to play out the Playboy persona much, much more to absolutely lead anyone suspecting that Bruce Wayne could never, ever be the Batman.

So far that is my little list... I'm sure I will have more in the future as well as many I have forgotten.

I just wanna see Nolans take on The Riddler we never saw Burtons take on it and i wanna see him done right just like we wanted to see Two Face done right

I wanna see a villain give Batman a run for his money in term of fighting, Maybe Bane or Catwoman or even Talia Al Ghul

I think The Joker should be mentioned in the next one as well imo he opened the flood gates for soo called" freak villains" to come out and take on Batman

I also wanna se Commisoner Gordon kick some ones ass i think it would be sweet to see

BANE!!! or some villian I may not know about who is physically imposing on batman

Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Roman Siosis/Black Mask
Edward Nygma/The Riddler
New Batsuit(I hate to be picky and I know this suit has alot more mobility, but Im not a fan of the RoboCop Batman)
A scene in Arkham Asylum and maybe a cameo of Dr. Quinzel
Batman at his parents tombstone, in the rain
A comic like Batcave equipt with the big computers, costume vault and maybe even a giant penny and a T-Rex :D
A BATMOBILE, not a tank
Wayne Manor
Some cameos like maybe Vicki Vale, Summer Gleeson, Sarah Essen etc
And please get rid of Batmans stupid growling.

- Wayne Manor
- An improved batcave, but not overdone.
- More traditional "comic" scenes, like Batman disappearing while somebody is talking to him.
- Interesting interrogations scenes, like throwing mobsters off of buildings or hanging corrupt cops upside down.:cwink:
- Batman sneeking in and out of Gordon's office, because he's now a wanted felon.
- AN INTERRESTING STORY TO TELL!!! A good plot and a good theme. If you don't have those things, the movie shouldn't be made.

-Bruce rarely out of the batsuit

-Batcave in infant stage

-Bruce training in the batcave/working out in a weight room

-Visit to parent's graves

-Black Mask

-The Ventriloquist

-Penguin (as an arms dealer/business man, nothing over the top)

-Leslie Thompkins

-Rupert Thorne

-New Tumbler (almost nearly identical, slightly modified)

-More martial arts/strategic fight sequences

-Use of more utility belt items (batarangs, lockpick, gasmask) with a scene where Batman throws the rope with those ball thingies at the ends at someone as they are running to tie them down

And most important of all,

LACK OF A LOVE INTEREST/STORY IN ANY FORM

Forgot, Definately Arkham Asylum.
Don't really want to see the T-rex or Penny. If anything is on display, maybe like the Begins Suit, and if he gets a new suit in the Third installment then have the TDK suit on display.

I just cannot wait until the official word and when we start hearing people who are casted so we can guess their roles. For example, when we heard like Michael Jai White, and were wondering who he would play.

There are only a few things I need to see:

-A fully fleshed out Batcave
-Batman doing detective work while in the batsuit
-Batarangs

Definately more Detective work. I remember Nolan stating that in Batman Begins they did not have enough time to flesh out the detective side of things and they pushed it a bit more in The Dark Knight, but I think even more would be appropriate. Like I said earlier, I think in terms of a Batman oriented film, have it like BB, but as a story it should be as big as TDK.

Also, as of late I am thinking about release dates and such, I am curious as to how a Winter film could turn out. What do you guys think?

Good idea Batman1018. Can't be the same temp all the time. Has to have some snow in Chicago (I mean Gotham).

It would look cool with like a green look to the film this time, and have the Penguin and Black Mask.

Though I would love to see a Daniel Day-Lewis' Riddler.

Yeah, I've been thinking about color schemes and if they do the Riddler I can certainly see green working well. I remember a while back seeing a Green Lantern fan poster with black and this neat green and thinking how cool it could look in Batman. My only thing is that this film will probably at least start out darker than TDK and having green may lighten it a little bit. I've been toying in my head with almost a reddish tint to things but Idk. I liked the Black/Blue and wouldn't mind it again but still in order for this movie to stand on its own I think it should be different.

As far as snow and winter, I just watched Returns last night and really wonder how it may look. Just thinking about film schedule, unless they push for a 2012 release, Winter filming might be a quicker solution and have arelease around Xmas 2011. I know Jett @ BOF is opposed to having a December film release but I don't see why not

^ I hope it comes out around Xmas 2011. Let's see if they finish the script in 2009 and go into pre-production with hopefully something like some casting around Comic-con. Then start filming the beginning of 2010 (hopefully in snowy months) then jump (not rush) into editing and all that fun stuff. Then have a few months to get things ready for Comic-con 2011 for a trailer. Do anyone think it could come out in 2011?

I've always loved the idea of a Nolan Batman film in the snow. Long Halloween and Dark Victory both had prominent scenes that took place in the snow. Snow adds a sort of majesty and mystery to Batman, especially if he is at his parent's grave and his boots are in a foot of snow.

^^ AAHHH!!! Now you remind me of the grave scene which I kind of always pictured in the pouring rain. However! I could see snow working well. I just feel he should be crying and at his lowest and for some reason... Snow makes me happy and almost reminiscent of adolescence, while rain has always made me feel more blue and just downright crappy.

as for 2011 release according to your timeline jok3r... i think it could certainly happen. But the fan in me is always wishing for a 2010 release.:oldrazz:

- Batman commiting random acts of vigilantism. (I know it's been mentioned here, but I can't help it.) Scenes like this could really settle in Batman's presence in Gotham as a monster.

- Bruce still remembering his parents. I want him to reminded of why he's doing this in the first place, and I would love for at least one scene that he breaks down because he thinks he's not doing a good enough job.

- A new suit. A mix of the TDK and BB suits, as well as Spider-Man's.

- Minimal focus on the villains, I know I might get flamed for this, but I think they should shift the focus back on Bruce. Bruce needs to go through the worst of times now, and I'd appreciate for it to be centered on him.

- A new batmobile. A hybrid of a Hummer and a Lamborgini, now leaning more towards the latter.

- It needs to be long. 3 hours at least.

- Bale's performance. I've always loved his Batman, but this time, I'd like to see him, as well as the filmmakers, step up with Batman. Make him emotionally involved, without making him a little *****.

- Everyone must turn their back on Batman. Lucius, Alfred, everyone. Bruce needs to be isolated, so he can reconstruct the Batman image by himself now.

- An unhappy ending. Kick everyone in that theater in the face with something as epic and unexpected as TDK's ending.

And that's my 2 cents.:grin::brucebat:

What I'd like is the comic book Batman, so we can see some of his more outrageous villians like Clayface or Manbat, it would really be cool if the Demon showed up.

I'd like to see the Batcave and more Alfred. The more we see Alfred and Bruce interact, the more we see Bruce's personal side. Plus, Caine is just too darn good to waste.

Otherwise, Nolan can surprise me.

No specific requirements. As long as it stays the course its been on since BB I'll be happy.

BatmansParents.jpg

for fight scenes to showcase batmans superior fighting ability

- Riddler
- a new batmobile
- the batcave finally done
- Bruce visiting his parents
- a huge fight scene
- Batman being chased
- the city asking for Batman and recognizing he is its only hope
- a good conclusion.
