Actually, Watchmen did fine, it's the most dedicated film based off of a comic book. Minus the ending, of course. The movie and book (for the most part) were hand-in-hand.

Just because the GA didn't like it, really doesn't amount to anything.

Sin City pwns Watchmen in the faithfulness department. 300 might as well, but I never read the comic myself so I'm just going off what others have said on that one.

And Snyder on Watchmen didn't have to worry about being successful enough to get sequels. It was never going to have a sequel, even if it made a billion dollars. The Iron Man fanchise is totally different.

Comedian did not wear his gimp mask in Watchmen and the film was a disappointment.

Whiplash wore a gimp mask. Mickey Rourke is playing Whiplash. So Mickey Rourke as Whiplash should wear a gimp mask.
