Iron Man 2 The Official Whiplash Thread

Mickey Rourke was an outstanding whiplash & an outstanding villian in general, the character itself I thought was used very well in the film.. perhaps not quite as good as The Joker from TDK however not far off it. I liked it alot.

The film itself was, in my opinion, no better or no worse than the first one.. therefore I felt it was quite an entertaining film that I'd see again in cinema & buy on dvd when released

If it's offscreen, it didn't happen.

I was sketchy on that scene too. Whiplash seems to conceed and just lay there waiting to blow up but who knows how long it takes to get that suit off. He seemed to suit up quickly enough when Black Widow was heading to his lab. It's left open I guess but it's pretty apparent he blew up along with all the drones...he seemed to think he won and even said I WIN! or whatever he said to Stark knowing that Pepper was still in danger....I don't know...I don't see a need for Whiplash to be in Iron Man 3. Maybe the Avengers in some sort of cameo but I doubt a big role is in line for him anywhere..

I know this is the whiplash thread... but has no-one really noticed that rodey
was able to fly away in the mark 2 Armor....without actually having a chestpiece

I would like to see him come back. The greatest twist was, [BLACKOUT]he was not the villain, Stark was. Ivan's father got ripped off and Ivan wanted revenge.[/BLACKOUT]

[BLACKOUT]Ivan's father tried to double-cross Tony's father. He had it comming.[/BLACKOUT]

he didn't double cross him, he just wanted to make money from it not "Save the World" like Howard Stark wanted to do...

It's awesome how amazing a lame villain like Whiplash can be, if handled with the proper care. Mickey Rourke was simply great.

Yep, he was supposed to be the villain, but considering his background, I ended up cheering for him.

^ Then you're kinda messed up in a way as well. Anton didn't want to use the arc reactor to save lives as Howard intended. Why in the world would you be on Ivan's side?

Read the posts above that one. And don't call me messed up, low life.

how about we grow up and stop the name caling before a flame war gets started and the thread closes?

I've seen this movie twice now and I feel kind of like an idiot asking this noob question but Vanko was playing Hammer with the not being able to speak english right?

enough with the name calling and insults or ill report ya both to the mods,

Didn't really answer my question
Yep. You just missed it, Flashlight. Look again. :whatever:

Anyways, back on topic. I think Mickey Rourke stole the show and he definitely surpassed Jeff Bridges when it comes to playing a villain. Even though he (Mickey) had somewhat limited screen time.

thats not stopping it, one more time today or tommorrow u two get into it and i swear to ****ing god ill get a mod in here

i just hope when i see it that its a good flick, and from what i hear it will be and Mickey will definatly perform
