Iron Man 2 The Official Whiplash Thread

He was a cool villain but he definitely should've had more screentime during the final battle, too short for my liking. His ionized whips are whatever they are are some of the coolest weapons used on film I've seen in a long time.

While I was watching the race track scene...the whole time I was trying to get over the fact that at such a high profile event with such high profile personnel...not a single person had a gun...

i never noticed that lol

i watched it twice in two days, i think the fight scene was the right length and intense two, it was jsut bam bam bam bam bam!

One thing i notice but didn't bring up before is the material for whiplash armor.. When the other drones are fighting IM/War Machine they are exploding and the armor seems not protect them especially war machines guns..

Now when Whiplash drops in he gets blasted by war machines guns, yet his armor doesint take much damage, I mean if hes usesing the same material that the drones have wouldn't it crumble?

I would think he probabyl altered the density of his armor or made it of a denser material

I re-watched Iron Man 2 the other day and i'm really hoping they release a Directors Cut with more Whiplash scenes. He wasnt shown nearly enough and it just seemed like a waste of a good villain.

It was hilarious when he yelled, "RAAAAAAAHHH!!!!! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!" at the beginning of the movie.

Terrible.

yea, some more Ivan would be great, i really loved him in the movie

The part where Ivan screams or yells in greif over his father's passing

yeah, I loved iron man 2 alot, but damnit that was just

It's only like, 3 seconds, so it doesn't matter anyways, :hehe:

After watching IM2 again on Blu-Ray, i have to say that Mickey's work in the film and as Whiplash is very underrated.

He is the complete opposite of most comic book film villians, he is quiet and deadly...and you buy it cause it's Mickey Rourke playing him and i dont think you would buy that style with anyone else.

While most of the film deals with Tony's inner battle with himself and everyone around him and it should be, it keeps the sequel fresh from just being hero vs. villain for 120 minutes. But Mickey does a great job, something like him being left alone in that room and then we cut back with those two guys hung and his hands bloody...that's all you need to see to know what Whiplash did to those guys.

I think the only complaint, which holds over from the first movie, that Final battle moves maybe just a little to quick, i would love to see something more held out, but when you have three guys in suits fighting, it makes sense on a film side to not stay with that overly long.
