The Official Willem Dafoe/Green Goblin I in Spider-Man 3 Thread!!

I'm glad Dafoe is back as well. I can't wait to hear his laugh again. I wonder if he'll do it again. Norman really doesn't need to laugh when speaking to his son again.

Maybe after Harry walks out of the gas chamber, we'll hear Norman laugh.

yeah, im sure norman will laugh after harry steps out of the gas chamber, considering the fact that norman telss harry how to get strong like his father or even stronger than his father, norman must tell harry to use the gas chamber.

I love it how Norman is in the same mirror, Raimi is keeping continuity in these movies. And if I were to guess I would say that Norman will make multiple visits. :ninja:

I hope Dafoe doesn't appear to Harry TOO much.

We don't want him overshadowing Harry now. Because, lets face it, Dafoe has a more commanding screen presence than Franco does.

agreed, when norman appears in the mirror it must be when harry is in the mansion all alone and depressed, thats when he talks to his fsther and goes in the gas chamber.

The only reason I'm glad from a plot POV that Dafoe is back is that now we can finally start validating on some level why Harry's not a carbon copy Goblin. I think Dafoe himself is an amazing actor, but in the purpose of this series his usage should be limited. I wasn't surprised that he's in the film, seeing as the SDCC pics of Harry had his father behind him. I'm just really hoping that this isn't a sign Raimi will go down the road of infinite Goblin appearances. I'm really, really tired of seeing Norman or some other Goblin being the source behind everything sans Peter's birth in the comics.

It's funny how the love/ hate relationship works between them. We see him vehemently against taking revenge on Spider-Man in the ending portion of SM2, yet we see him in SM3 willingly walking into the chamber to douse himself in the human performance enhancer. It will indeed be interesting to see how the change of heart occurs.

True, but if he only shows up once towards the beginning he'll leave us wanting more scenes that would never come. Also I want Norman's "spirit" to be one of the main influences for Harry to kill Peter by persuading and vexing him for a few scenes. At this point to me at least, Harry doesn't really seem evil enough to kill Peter.

it sure will, in spidey1 harry felt that his father wasnt really close to him and was being more close to peter, in spidey2 norman started to treat harry like a son at the end of the movie, now in spidey3 harry will go along with his father and use the serum gas to buold up his strength and do what he said he was ganna do in spidey1, "one day spiderman will pay", it sure will be interesting.

I don't think Norman will have many scenes but it does look like his scenes will be crucial.

i hope he sees norman before he helps peter.

Since Dafoe and Cliff Robertson returned for flashback scenes. I wonder if they'll have some of sort flashback/dream scene involving Alfred Molina as Dr. Octopus? Or a scene where they fish his body out of the river?

Scenes with him taunting Harry but than at the end or during the credits I want a scene say like at Harrys grave. A strange hooded man walks buy and than he stops at the grave adn then we see his face as he removes part of clothes that is covering most of his face and it is Norman.

THE END!!!!!!

Something cool like that........!

Im excited....!:spidey: :gg::up: :up:

Wow. that would be the most amazing ending. :wow:

Sorry but thats about as stupid and farfetched as
Xavier transfering his soul to the body of his evil twin brother.
The after credits ending of X-Men 3.

Getting internal bleeding is easier to 'recover' from (in comic book world) than GETTING BLOWN UP BY A PISSED, EVIL PSYCHIC!

In the comics, Norman recovered from his 'death' b/c of the serum. Why can't that happen here?

Because the glider went right through his liver, stomach and spine. Realistically no one could survive that and we clearly see that he didn't. He's also now six feet under in a casket. So unless Raimi wants to start questioning him, which a lot people already do but thats besides the point, i'd suggest he doesn't start bringing back dead villains....from the dead.:ninja:

Also if they make Spider-Man 4 they'll need a new villain.Spider-Man has a huge Rogues gallery, why go back to the Goblin stuff over and over again?3 movies with the Osborn family is enough.

Fair points, but this IS comic book world. Who honestly wants a too realistic world?

Sometimes reality takes away the fun.

As much as I would love to see Norman Osborn return as The Green Goblin (I said something similar to your idea a few months back in fact :D) and give Gwen Stacy the Brooklyn Bridge treatment as seen in ASM #121, I don't think that Raimi would take that approach. Oh well, there are plenty of other awesome Spidey villains to choose from.

Well i think you need to ground certain aspects in reality to suspend belief of the audience. But that doesn't mean you can't have fun, the Spidey movies aren't short of the that.

Norman Osborn is not Phoenix so let him rest in peace.:yay:

Tbh- I don't really want Norman to return in full form. BUT.....if he did, the graveyard scene would be the best way for him to.
