JJ Abrahms, Mark Millar and Jeph Loeb = Gold
What a horrible trio, what are you aiming for a film worst than Singer's? (If thats actually possible).
JJ Abrahms, Mark Millar and Jeph Loeb = Gold
Writers: Paul Haggis with Andrew Kevin Walker and Brian Fuller
Braintrust consultants: Geoff Johns, Mark Millar, Mark Waid, Kurt Busiek and Grant Morrison, Neil Gaiman.
Storyboards by Frank Quitely, Gary Frank, Ash Wood
Directors: Alfonso Cuaron, David Fincher, Steven Spielberg, Matthew Vaugh
There's infinite scenarios really...
I'd love for Spielberg to give Supes a shot. He was originally interested in the original film, but once the time came, he was already busy with Close Encounters. I wonder if he'd even consider giving it a shot today...
geoff johns. geoff johns. geoff johns.
Not to be downright rude, but some of the ideas in this thread drive me nuts (and I seriously hope that WB doesn't take some of this to heart). This isn't a cartoon or a comic, but a film. Now, I could see saddling a comic guru like Johns or Loeb with a proven film scripter, but I wouldn't give them solo carte blanche. Timm is great...with simple-minded and unlayered cartoons, but the last thing I want is Superman film with the depth of Pirates of the Caribbean or JLU. Someone like Paul Haggis saddled with one of those writers would be acceptable, though. That way, the geeks could be pleased, but the characters wouldn't cheap lean-to's that are reminiscent of something Joel Schumacher would be directing.
geoff johns. geoff johns. geoff johns.
Haggis is a f**king hack. How that man won an Oscar is beyond me.
Johnathan Nolan to write the script. And Shymalan for the director
Another question is, why is the uber dark completely unoptimistic J-Nolan a good choice for Superman? He's a fine writer but I don't want a dark and scary Superman movie with a moody Superman included. Why do you think a horror movie director would be a good choice for Supes?
I know how strong a word hack is.Hack is kind of a strong word, but I really dont see anything special about what he's done. I'd rather he not get involved with Supes.
well, in regards to geoff johns, he got his start working in hollywood (with richard donner no less). he knows how it works, he knows the standards, and he knows the expectations of hollywood. he's worked on films and knows how writing scripts is different from writing comics. if it were another comic book writer, i'd agree with this. but im confident that johns could go it alone.I would've prefer Geoff Johns not to do it alone. It best to have one comic book writer work with another writer who is experience with film script. I would pair Geoff Johns with Christopher McQuarrie. Heck, maybe have Paul Dini join the fun with those two as the third writer.![]()
