All you need is a Sentinel coming out of the water beside the bridge.

Both the Series 4 Dr. Doom and Series 4 Human Torch figures are on their way to me now. I should have them in a couple of days. A site, http://www.amazingtoyz.com , had them listed. However, I got the last 2, he is all sold out. But he did tell me he will be getting another order in October, so you can check the site. And he is very reasonably priced. Right now he has the series 4 Mr. Fantastic and the Series 4 Thing in stock. Very low stock though.

There are a few ways, but I'll give you one to try out.. Use the Lasso Tool or any other tool to select the hair or outline the hair, and then go to adjustments/color balance.. From there you can fiddle with the colors a bit..

From there you can just fiddle with photoshop on brightness and contrast to bring out the color.. :)

Use a layer mask based on a hair selection (use your favorite technique). Change that layer into soft-light mode or color mode (tend to be the best two layer modes for hair editing). Paint the color on that layer. The layer mask will restrict the selection.

And the Brightness/Contrast sliders should be removed. Use levels, or better yet, Curves.

As a note, changing a brunette to a full blond (or white) rarely ever looks right.

hey guys, we should have some kind of fanart contest just for ourselves. We could have like a new category every week. I was thinking maybe we can post our work every Monday. We can probably call it "Monday Manips".

does anyone have any good ideas for categories? anything like poster concepts, wallpapers, comedy skits, etc.

anyone interested?

Outside SB's contribution everything else is pretty bad. I love Laz's Jean/Xavier poster best though and has been the only contribution here that's really good along with SB's logo.

Laz,

I know you said you are doing these at work but you need to be mindful of not rushing anything. The bridge and cars look blurred and very badly positioned. You need to skew them correctly and also get rid of the blur. Since this is Magneto tossing around cars I would have gone with a "sonic" filter so that the vehicles appear to be moved around by magnetic force. Also The mutants are positioned in the wrong places, example, you should have pushed and scaled Magneto down some. That way it gives the illusion he is throwing the cars around. The way he's positioned now doesn't reallly flow because the cars are scaled odlly forward and doesn't give the presence that he's tossing them around.

The Bridge looks unleveled by the position of the mutants. I'm going to assume you wanted a "bending" bridge. It could work if you sharpened the images and used a higher res. I would also watch the contrast on the images. All the colors don't blend in correctly. Be mindful of the saturation levels they all have to match accordingly.

Mystique and Pryo's appearance doesn't match up with Magneto's. Use different poses or images.

All your images need sharpening. Don't forget to do that when working with stills. Whenever you scale an object often they blur by default. Sharpening once usually alleviates that problem. Again check the positioning of your mutants. They should be suited well together.

Also the Logo is a mismatched. Doesn't blend in at all. You can have an odd logo or a "stand out" logo but it also has to match color hues within the poster.

PS. Use lighting techniques to rid the shadows on the mutants. It's very odd for Pyro to have a shadow on his face if he's outside. Same goes for Mysty and Mags.

Storm with short hair.

Love the shirt, I want one for X-Mas.

Use layers for the hair and tint.

PS. Same for the eyes. Duplicate layers, fix the opacity and blend. Color Burn if you want Phoenix Eyes but in this case of Storm I'd use a blend of filters like Glaussin Blur and Dodge tool.

Ricky as Avalanche - Based on Costume Description

Not so bad other than you need to fix the contrast. Also get rid of the shadow on his right. Why would he have a shadow on the right?

Brighten+Sharpen+Fix hue. You're done!

um....and who exactly are you Comic Queen? Been here since July, only have 5 posts and you are critcizing like that? wow.... some people!

you know she keeps spouting all of this criticism, i want to see some of her work.

Thanks for the CC, but the reason it has a red/brown tint is because the picture was originally a black and white, I also wanted to make it have an earthy tint for the sake of character... but Thanks. :)

Not to eat up bandwith.

Wolverine is much more difficult. Shades of gray with a blending o him breaking out of glass. Combination of brushes+fixed hues+sharpening+contrast levels.

done.

Great example of a photo I cleaned and enhanced. Look at the original and compare it to each other. The one on the left is the "Enhanced" photo by me and the other is the original source.

Blurs+Saturation depleting+constrast+Brightness

embossing the clear text. Done.
