Jean knew that Scott would do absolutely everything to save her, or if not he'd blast his way out just so they could hold hands together and die. Which is exactly why she prevented him from getting out.
But look on the bright side. She came back, for him. To know that the woman you love died, and then came back because she missed you, that's gotta be pretty powerful stuff, man.
