Sequels The official X-MEN 4 talk thread

I never wrote anything. I only did a dialogue scene of Kitty and Rogue; I have it almost translated so I'll post it soon.

just remembering a video interview to Zak Penn:

Collinder.com has a video interview with X3 writer Zak Penn, and asked if his young X-Men spin-off film is still in the works. “Theoretically that still will happen.” said Penn. ”They’re waiting until Wolverine comes out before they make those decisions, but the idea is there and its been pitched and I would do it if they want to do it.”

"The interviewer also mentioned that producer Lauren Shuler Donner “did an interview apparently the other day saying that they’re moving forward with X-Men 4.” Penn said he had heard nothing of it."

- Conclusions:

Wolverine boxoffice will determinate the next decisions of Fox.

If Wolverine is a success, they'll do more spin-offs.

Do you really want that?...... or preffer X4?

Is your decision.

Mine: I won't see Woverine in the theatre.

not much action going on in this thread. anyway, check this out:

i made it today. any suggestions?

looks very well done.

which program did you use?

IMO, i think having Bryan Singer and Brett Ratner team up to direct would make the perfect x-men movie. I think this because the first two xmen films were great, but lacked action sequences, and this are people with powers, that equals action. The third xmen film exceeded in action, but lacked story, it was too short. In conclusion, Singer's story technique added with Ratner's action would make an interesting x-men movie imo.

I don't think the action in X3 was that great.

there are some directors out there who do better action scenes.

The good guys...

is nice how you have used some manips made by me, hehe.

I think you've forgotten Bobby.

I know, but i thought the action in x-3 was so much better than the action in the first two, sure they had some cool scenes with some action, but not enough. The point i was just trying to get across was x-3 had more action than the first two. Idc who directs, i want another x-men movie, no spin-offs! :xmen:

do you know the "Letter campaign" idea?

check the other thread in this same board.

yeah, but this is the "official x-men 4 talk thread" and i was talking about what could maybe make a good xmen movie.
I think for the 4th movie should be around the new x-men, like iceman, kitty, angel, collussus or how ever you spell his name, and rogue,if she gets her powers back. It would just be cool, and fresh to see the new xmen evolve and use their powers, because i've seen enough of wolverine, storm, and beast.

I think Bobby should be in X4, there isn't a serious reason for not appear again. He is a x-men now, so...

And about Logan, we know Hugh could not want to return, so he could not appear again.

there should be no more than 7 or 8 x-men, and Bobby has already had 2 films a full fledged member. Make some room for Gambit!

he, Storm is the older x-men, so by that rule, she shouldn't appear, hehe.

Gambit won't be a member in X4, so he can have his room in the film, and Bobby too.

because they'll probably introduce him as a lonely guy, maybe working in the bad side, or doing "bad" things... and later he'll have a meet with one x-man, or the whole team... but will join them at the end or after the middle of the film, don't know.

I don't think he'll use a x-men costume. Bobby and Rogue got a costume after two movies, so will be weird if Gambit use one in the first team movie where he appears.

That all depends on how they introduce him.
for all we know, X4 could be a 5 years later tale where we see how far they have come, where they are in there lives now and whats changed since Xavier "died".
Gambit and a few others could be in the team from the start, and it would do away with waisting time on long bactsories leading up to 2 minutes of "in costume" screentime (Angel in X3)

The time issue is something I'm worried.

I would like a sequel where only has passed some months after X3, but if they do X4, it will be 5 or 6 years after X3 and the actors will look really different.

But maybe they still keep a short pass of time.

I think starting the movie with the team and school too much changed will be weird for the audience.

I don't, especially if you drop "4" from the title and call it "New X-Men" or "Uncanny X-Men".
Look at Indiana Jones 4, Ghost Busters 2, TMNT, Rambo, Die Hard 4, Rocky 6...
all stories dealing with "Where are they now" aspects.
Some fans want to see there franchise progress, some want a sequel a year for 20 years (which only happens if your central character is a machete wielding undead goalie)

i like that idea, that's the only thing I think Ratner pulled off better than Singer... more action sequences
