BvS The Official Zack Snyder Directs Everything Thread

Yea, production design is usually one of the strongest facets of Snyder's films. Kinda reminds me of Ridley Scott in a way. Very much an artists director.

this decision was a inevitable. when they delayed batman v. superman and the rumors of JL being filmed back to back cropped up, it made too much sense to not be true.

excited it's finally been confirmed, though.

So THR says Superman/Batman and Justice League are filming back to back....like I figured

I'm assuming this is an old manip, because aside from the release date, that doesn't look like Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Her cleavage is too impressive. :hubba

I know this is way out of left field but what do you guy think the chances of Imperiex ever gracing the big screen?

Never. Even among fans, no one cares. OUR WORLDS AT WAR has Brainiac, Darkseid and Imperiex, but it's not the most popular or well known DC story, is it?

I hope Darkseid is alluded to in some way in BvS, if he's to be the big bad in Jl.

Indeed.

On the subject of Darkseid, two things worth getting excited about:

Omega Beams and Apokolips on screen.

If anyone can make them cheesy ass omega beams work in live-action, it would be Snyder.

Omega beams tend to look wonky in motion IMO.

Im more interested to see to what extent Affleck and Terrio are involved with JL then I am then Synders attachment. Knowing Synder, if the script is good, we can sort of imagine what the film might be like. Its the script and the delicate balancing act of introducing so many elements and heroes that I'm part worried and part really excited about.

wow so long in the works and now three years of production ahead...if this movie does not deliver all hell breaks lose and faith in wb is lost forever

All faith lost for 3 or 4 years until the next movie.

i want apokolips, i wan the warworld, i want the martian civil war. i want aquaman stiring **** up. i want a muthufkn interplanetary war for jl. that's what it's gonna take to showcase these superpowered mfers.

The idea of seeing Superman and Darkseid going toe-to-toe on Apokolips is just... wow.

yeah if this bombs they need some time to recover. or stop doing superheromovies forever.
but who am i kidding..i'll go see it anyway either the chritics are good or bad( and i guess so will the majority of the fans)...well wait a minute. i usually watch all that stuff but i still avoided green lantern...i feel brave somehow :-)

honestly, it could be a schumacker level of fail and it still won't bomb. way too many marquee characters showing up the first time for it to happen.

I have a BAD feeling about this.

Shoving so many characters into one movie without a dedicated film for each...it doesn't give enough time for the audience to create an emotional bond with the characters. So when the characters all join together it's not as hard hitting on that emotional level.

I don't know if my heart would be able to take it.

I've always said Marvel need to do it because their characters are less well know. How ever Dc is the opposite so they don't need to so that.

The vast majority of people who have watched avengers did not watch all of the phase one films let alone remember them.

Other than Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, do you really think the general audience is excited to finally see Cyborg and AquaMan finally on-screen together?

People didn't like Avengers because they had emotional bonds with the characters.

Jeez, it's gotten to the point where some people TRY to do something different from Marvel and thus, have no faith in them pulling it off so they MUST emulate Marvel's plan.

People liked Avengers for a variety of reasons. 1.5 billion dollars says so.

One of those reasons is the interactions of these already established characters. He does have a point.

It's a point, but it's not worth much. People have vastly overstated the importance of the solo flicks. There's such a huge discrepancy between its box office numbers compared to the solo ventures. And much of that is attributed to the fact that Avengers, on its own, became an event movie. Which means it attracted a far larger audience beyond those who had come out for the previous outings.

Most of the people I know had never seen an MCU film (aside from maybe IM) prior to Avengers. No one's arguing the solo films helped, but they largely helped to create a public image for these B-listers. Something that isn't needed for the original superhero team that has always been in the public consciousness.

Always been in the public consciousness my ass. Supes, Bats and Wonder Woman sure. Green Lantern? Flash? Martian Manhunter? Aquaman? ****ing Cyborg?

Do me a favour lol.

It seems the three most popular ones are getting the most development before the JL movie in Bats, Supes and Wonder Woman. The others who no one outside of comic readers knows about or gives a **** about won't have any development beforehand.

It is a good point that the likes of Cyborg (in particular him) Flash and Green Lantern need solo movies. Green Lantern needs to be completely rejuvenated indeed.

Anyway, since people can enjoy avengers without having seen a thor or black widow solo film, they can enjoy JL without having seen a cyborg solo film.
