...I for one know what happens in the opening, even though I haven't seen it yet, but it sounds to be great!?... Do we hear the Krypton theme as we open up on the planet? It's pracktickly their only chance to use it, isn't it?

How was the lines written on screen? Good or bad? And who would have prefered the black'N'white comic book opening? The opening credits are similar to the ones in STM, yet some say that they look BAD compared to the first movie (please elaborate!)... What's this all about? It's just opening credits, for crying out loud!

What is your opinion on ALL of the above?^ Was it a good way to kick off the movie? What impact did it have on YOU??? Did you feel PUMPED when it all happened?

If you grew up watching the older one, they probably have more bearing, but if you're under 30, chances are you could care less. I liked it, as I remember seeing it for the first time when I was about 5, but that was in the early '80's.

I missed them getting drinks for myself and my friend!!!!

What he said. Superman III was the first movie I remember going to as a kid, so hearing the original theme/intro was nostalgic.

the whole lettering 3-D zoom thing seemed dated to me. i liked most, if not all of the other homages in the film, but this one seemed unnecessary to me. i didn't dislike it, but it was just kind of like... why?

the speeding towards earth part i liked, though.

The opening was amazing, especially with the shots of space and planets from Kal-Els journey...wow

there was no comic book opening...mine started with jor-el speaking

the best part of the opening credits was that it didn't take as long as it did in Superman the Movie!

For me It had a Huge Impact, The opening set up The Movie. In a Superb way. The intro was done well And hearing Brando voice was moving. The ending was a Masterpiece . It was a very Emotional moment for me. Not only to see SUPERMAN flying in a Incredible and
marvelous way. Not to Mention hearing John Williams SUPERMAN theme was very powerful both in The opening credits & ending credits .

:supes:

The titles sent chills down my spine.. almost brought a tear to my eye..

I thought the whole planets thing looked terrible. The guy behind me asked why they were playing the opening from Third Rock from the Sun.

I grinned like a ****ing jackass. :D Somewhere in my head was a voice that said "Holy s**t! This is the real Superman III!".

And the ending was even better. Where he did that thing where he flew at the screen and smiled. :D

Yep, that's what they looked like.

Both the beginning and the ending were amazing. I definitely appreciated it.

The same reason that all the Star Wars movies had the same opening, for continuity and nostalgic memories.

The nostalgia of the Reeve movies definitely hit home during the opening sequence. The combination of the 3-D lettering and the Williams theme had me in total fanboy mode. It was great. :D

I really wanted the opening sequence to move me but it didn't.
Maybe it would of with the William's Score.
It still was good.

Absolutely loved it -- BTW, Alex Ross was sitting right next to me (he and I talked before and after the film). Watching a Singer movie, with Williams score, and Alex Ross next to me --- priceless. :-)
