The Amazing Spider-Man Opening Credits

If they do have all of the credits at the end, then I hope they do something cool with it instead of having words dissolve after one another on a black screen (it works for Nolan's Bat-films, but for Spidey I expect something a little more extravagent).

just start with the movie, opening credits are a waste. I takes up too much time and it is a waste of budget. Unless it is like Se7en that had the best opening credits for any movie I have seen.

^^ I disagree about it taking up too much time, ubt that's jsut me. Star Wars has slow opening credits and that works. Well, IMO, anyway.

Are 2-3.5 minutes really too long?

Too long? Not really.

Remember that...not everyone has seen all 3 movies before.

I it is waste of film in most case. Film is expense spending all the extra budget for 2.5-3 minutes is waste of budget.
I liked how the Spider Man movies did the credits but they should not do the same thing over again. If they do something creative then credits can work great otherwise it could be a waste of money. I like when opening credits are done well but it seems in most cases they are not. I am fine with have credits playing as the movie starts up.
I feel like for most blockbuster the movie should just start up, maybe because I worked at movie for 2 years that I get sick of seeing so many boring open credits.

I thought about after I posted it lol. Social network has a good opening as well.
There are some other good openings I basically saw every wide release opening form June 2007 until July 2009. So i know there are some better opening but majority of the opening sucked.

Movies that open without credits are considered lazy to me, I don't care if it's supposed to be artistic or whatever.

Would it be weird to have a slice of life opening? With Peter Parker's day panning out with names and all that coming behind him and over him, on billboards, on taxis, stuff like that?

To me that was the high point of that movie. And then it all went down hill from there.:csad:
That's because that is where he actually tried to adapt - to keep the tone of the comic but ultimately be its own separate entity, to expand on the comic - and not copy it shot for panel like he did after the opening & opening credits.

I really liked x-men first class's opening. It was very brief yet very meaningfull. The guys who saw the film, will understnad what I mean ;)

Please ignore how terrible and quick this drawing was. It's a rough breakdown of what I'm going to try to do.
