well, that just leads to more questions then, lol

Not really. They could have used a similar door and time traveled forward to the unholy place of Ana's basement for a second. Boom.

Having just read X-Men: Battle of the Atom, I was kinda hoping they would give a better explanation for multiple timezone sisters, lol. It'd be kinda silly for the possessed sisters just to go to the future just to scare Jesse

So those two little girls possessed in the commercial are Kristi and Katie?

If that's true this movie screwed with my head even more. Saw it tonight, overall I liked it, but the last couple minutes were a huge wtf, even considering I had read the spoilers here. At least they set it up, kind of, early in the movie. Even so, any tiny bit of realism this series had left flew right out the door with that.

Funny thing is here in Britian when PA1 got to the ending we got the version where mika gets thrown at the camera in the bedroom and katy crawls slowly and does her demon face. Now the ending of this one all the commotion happens in the kitchen so some people were like WTF even more lol as you said though the whole ending was a WTF moment

thats actually the ending we got in the states too, at least in my theater. My guess is when the main guy ran off and was killed, there was more to the struggle and that's where Micah ended up on the stairs to get thrown.
Now aren't they going to have to mention the mysterious future body found with Micah? Because if they say who it is, he's totally alive as of the first PA. .... So confusing.

When can we stop posting in spoilers?lol

Anyway, it's been years since I've seen the first one but was it ever clear that it was Micah's body that was thrown at the camera at the end? What if they ret-conned it to be Hector's? He could've ran up in the scuffle at the end

This is how i could see them doing it aswell mate, just like how they tied F&F6 with Tokyo Drift . That was done quite nicely but back to the film , i think they ****ed themselves over just to have some hyped up ending .

I just realized some rather awesome tidbits in Marked Ones.
The "Meus" that's written in blood on Jesse's wall is the same word carved into Hunter's bedroom door in PA2. I was reading that it's Latin for "Mine".
Also, is it the grandmother who switches the camera off at the end of Marked Ones? I'm pretty certain it's her.

As far as the door goes, I hear some people liking it and others not so much, but I like it. With the focus of where the story/mythology is now, we can't have Tobey or whatever ghost do all the work and have these women suspected of witchcraft without ever seeing what their powers can actually do. I would love to see these women unleash some crazy magic in the next film(s). I feel this series has evolved which I can't really say for most horror series which are just sequel after sequel. This series has taken it's audience and characters from being afraid of ghosts to an army of witches. So good lol.

How crazy will it be if Ali goes to grandma's house and uses the door to travel to each of the previous movies?
The possibilities in storytelling are so vast.

So watched this the other night and loved it, rewatched the first one today and

the body that flies at the camera is certainly Micah's you couldn't really say that it's Hector's however when Katie screams from Micah and he runs down the stairs you do hear another male yelling among Katie and Micah's voice. I am assuming originally that male voice would just be 'Toby' as possessing Katie however i'd now like to think that it's Hector before he runs off into Jesse's loving arms.

Just watched the film, was decent enough for what it was, definitelly better than the 4th one. Hope to see more people shooting on witches :woot:

So, with the Witch army and their unholy kids, are they assembling an army of demons to conquer the world? lol

Personally, I was kinda bored with the fifth installment. And I generally like the PA series. I thought the first three were all really well done. I haven't seen PA4 yet, so I can't comment on it, but I found the latest one kinda lacking.

Just saw The Marked Ones, thought it was pretty awesome and feels like it's reinvigorated the series after the rather drab placeholder that was the 4th installment.

Also liked the end w/the Black Door. I guess it wasn't strictly necessary but it made for a cool callback to the 1st film and showcased some creepy witch magic, which we need more of because seeing people get chokeslammed by invisible wrestlers gets a little stale after awhile.

Also I didn't realize until afterwards that the girl they visited was the sister from the 2nd one. I need to rewatch the whole series.

Am I right that the third woman in the photo w/Anna and Jesse's mom was Katie and Kristi's grandmother?

Regarding Paranormal Activity 5, Jason Blum offers that all the questions fans have asked will be answered. He also says they aren't worrying about Paranormal Activity 6, but want to make PA 5 the best movie they can.
You can expect a ton of answers. We had a lot of conversations about the mythology in Paranormal, and one of the things that I was happy... There is kind of this group of us that gets together and develops these movies, and there was a decision that a lot of fans were tired of only getting little snippets of information. So we are going to answer almost every possible question that one can have about the mythology in Paranormal Activity. And during that time we were developing someone said,"Well, what are we going to do for Paranormal 6?" And happily I got the room to agree that we would worry about that later. I wanted to apply the philosophy of the first movie that we did to the fifth, which was make a great movie that answers everything that's really good, and go from there. That's what to expect.

Awesome! Great to hear we'll finally be getting some answers

I just found out this was pushed back to 2016? Terrible idea.

Wow, really? No one's even going to care about the answers anymore, because they will have forgotten what the questions were. Bad, bad idea.

In my opinion - and I've said this before - they can make as many of these movies as they want and I won't complain. I'd say it's the best mainstream Horror series going right now. And I like that they want to wrap up everything in PA5... Makes me feel like PA6 will start fresh and focus on a new family/mythology. That's the best decision they could possibly make. :yay:

But, nay to 2016. They've got plenty of time for October 2015. These movies cost like 11 dollars, lol. There's no excuse.

What's taking so long with this one? The other's came out so fast after each other.

Especially since these films are filmed four months before their release.

Which isn't saying much sadly. :csad:

Well, no, but for my money, it's the best series. Individually, I think the genre is doing pretty well with Sinister, The Conjuring, Oculus, Insidious... but we're still lacking.

Yeah, seriously. It's not like they're waiting for Hans Zimmer to write an epic score... There isn't a score. The damn editing doesn't even have to be good - it's found footage. In fact, they probably spend more time making the editing look sloppy to add to the authenticity.

These bastards... Give me $5,000 and I'll make your freaking PA5 next month. :o

Despite being sick of all these ghost/exorcism films Hollywood keeps pumping out, I actually liked the Insidious films, The Conjuring and Sinister to some extent. I haven't seen Oculus yet.

Yeah, I'm a little concerned by Hollywood's idea that exorcisms and ghosts are the ONLY scary things in the world.

(Ironically, I'm bickering about the opposite approach in the "Universal Monsters" thread.)

But I absolutely think we NEED a return to movies where the main antagonist/villain is a creature, monster, or some supernatural entity like Pinhead or Freddy Kruger. Nobody wants to create horror icons anymore. There's no towering figure that can stand toe-to-toe with Michael or Jason. The closest thing was the Jigsaw puppet... and that was a puppet. On a tricycle. Who wasn't alive. Chucky was at least alive.
