Anyone get the blu ray yet? I'm curious as to what's actually on the extra 30 minutes of film.

I liked the first three. The fourth seems off a little. Didn't scare me and I blame the layout of the house lol. Plus I didn't really care about the people or what happened to them. This being said I'd give a 5th a watch too.

I redboxed this a couple days ago and I was surprised how much I liked the 4th movie, by no means is it a great movie, but I did enjoy it. Maybe that's my reward for going in with piss poor expectations.

I would rank them:

1. PA 1
2. PA 3
3. PA 4
4. PA 2

Looking forward to the fifth movie.

They really need to advance the story with the next one. Even though I found PA4 to be enjoyable, in hindsight it does seem like pretty much filler. I like creepy movies and this one did for me, though.

I think it'd be fun to see one of these from the demon's point of view. He's really the only interesting character in them.

If I had to take a crack at it im sure the next one will be about witch craft. In other words some cultish group has summoned the demon and using the kid so it can take physical form. Im sure the cult group will have to perform some ritual for all this to happen,, the girl thats been doing all the killing will probably snap out of it at the end,, just in time to save the kid before the demon can take over his body. Last im sure you will probably be able to see that nerdy guy somewhere in the back ground.. you know the one that made out with the model in the go daddy commercial recently

Hahaha! PA4's earnings lagged most likely because people are starting to wake up and realize that all the movies are basically the same. I love how they're trying to blame it on the month it was released.

Yes, there is the possibility that's why it didn't do as well as they hoped, but I highly doubt it.

It lagged because the movie just was not good. They're all kind of the same but that's every horror movie franchise at least these still provide some creepy moments.

Yea Paranormal Activity 3 is the only really good one out of the four movies. 1,2,4 were all medicore and boring honestly. PA 3 had scares, clever ideas, like the fan camera, and actually advanced the story. PA 5 needs to go ahead and wrap the story up or give us some really good answers to the questions we all want to know. If they are just cranking out another filler movie that gives no answers then, they can suck it ha.

2014 Gets a Double Serving of Paranormal Activity

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=107563

Although no Paranormal Activity film will be hitting theaters in 2013, Paramount Pictures confirmed today that 2014 will be getting a double-helping of the "found footage" horror franchise. January 3 will see the release of the Latino-themed spinoff, now titled Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, while Paranormal Activity 5 has been dated for October 24, 2014.

Described as a "cousin" to the franchise, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones is scripted by Christopher Landon, will feature a Latino cast and will offer a storyline rooted in a Catholic-based investigation into the supernatural.

As with the rest of the series, Jason Blum and Oren Peli will produce.

The franchise is on its last legs so they decide to do a spinoff "cousin" movie? Makes perfect sense. Here's hoping this other movie is similar to Atrocious.

What? What are they actually trying to pull? I'm all for two movies next year, but a spinoff and then a fifth?

I'm getting a bad feeling questions will never be answered. The franchise will just drift away.

Didn't they mention it last year they were doing that anyway? Something about cashing in on the strong religious Latino market or something like that.

Yeah, there was an after credits scene to the fourth movie I think that took place in south America or maybe Mexico. But this is the first tome I'm hearing of a spinoff movie.

Not that excited about this franchise anymore, unless they decode to answer some of our questions.

Gregory Plotkin to Helm Paranormal Activity 5

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=109467

Following word yesterday that Almanac scribes Jason Pagan and Andrew Stark have signed on to write Paranormal Activity 5 comes the update, via Deadline, that franchise editor Gregory Plotkin will be making his directorial debut with the October 24, 2014 release.

Although 2013 may mark the first year since the original film's release that October hasn't seen a new Paranormal Activity film, 2014 is already set to make up for that. In addition to Paranormal Activity 5, Paramount Pictures will release the Latino-themed spinoff, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones on January 3.

Plotkin has served as editor on every Paranormal Activity but the first, including the upcoming The Marked Ones spinoff.

As with the rest of the series, Jason Blum and Oren Peli will produce Paranormal Activity 5.

Don't care for the spinoff, I mainly want to see how the story progresses with the coven.

I recently watched part 4 a few days back and I think 3 and 4 are my favorites. It seems like a lot of people prefer 1 and 2, but I liked how 3 and 4 actually tell more of the story with the witches. The first one was lame considering it took place in the bedroom and the second was alright, best part was when the sister snapped the dad's neck on the couch.

Only thing that confused me about part 4 was that Hunter was taken by his aunt at the end of part 2, yet in 4 he got adopted and the aunt/witches have another child. If she took him as a baby, wouldn't the witches and her raise him from that point on??

I'm fairly confident Robby (the boy who was w/ Hunter) was a ghost/demon or something the whole time. Near the end you can see Hunter/Wyatt walking down the stairs a night w/ a child sized figure right beside him leading him towards a ghost/demon. I honestly dont know why or how he ended up w/ that new family to begin with. Katie did tell him that she'd wait for him till he was ready in the film as well so maybe that has something to do w/ it? Either way i actually like all the films 1-4 and this new one (is it meant to be the 5th? or a spin off entirely?) looks rather interesting as well.

That's right! I forgot about the scene with Hunter walking down the stairs and that ghost like figure is next to him.

The one that they just released is for that spinoff I believe. I'm surprised I'm actually saying this considering I used to talk trash about these films around the time the third film was released, but I can't wait to see part 5. I just want to see the series end and what happens with Hunter and the witches.

The Marked Ones looks like it could be scary, or just stupid. My money's on the latter.

Also, the similar vibe with Devil's Due is wearing me down.

so this is a spin off that is in the same universe and is created for the latino market and it was filmed for the US public?

if they would spit PA fans in their face they wouldnt insult them like they did with this movie.

Not too thrilled at how...lazy...this one looks. I know the series was founded in its low budget found footage roots, but they always had a well put together feel and look to them. This just doesn't have that flair to get me excited, even more so that I'm willing to bet with 99% certainty that trailer's final shot will be the movie's closing shot. Won't have any mentions of what happened to the girls after the coven took them in the 80s for the whole movie then somehow they'll leave you hanging on why they're still young in demonic form (even though they grew up to be possessed/kill in 1&2) and the grandma looks like a living corpse and than bam, basement slams shut.

Looks like a redbox rental for me.

And this the finest example of further milking it dry. Not only have they already been beating a dead horse for 3 films now, but they want to be ambitious by making a companion film. Goodness gracious.

:o
