The Paris Hilton Fiasco Threads Merged

nah she's being very coy about it.

"When will you be talking to her?"
"Not anytime soon."
"Couldn't you visit her?"

lol :woot: Nicole is a dumbass but Conan is making her look like an even bigger dumbass.

I've heard people criticizing the judge, saying he was being excessively harsh in sentancing. I believe he should be harsh in sentencing. She is a celebrity, and a media icon. There are thousands of little girls around this country who want to talk, act, and be just like her. An example should be made. Whether she asks for it or not she is a role model. And look what she is teaching people. Look what she is teaching my little cousin. That good looks and money will get you off the hook for everything.

She could have killed someone. She drove, DRUNK on a licence that was already suspended for drunk driving, not once, but twice. She expects special treatment, she expects leniency. I say DENY IT. let her see the real real-world. the true simple life. give her a dose of reality that doesn't come with a host.

my thoughts exactly on this whole mess.

It's ironic how she is now experiencing what she once basked in the dislocation of: life without the benefits of a free pass. And how does she react? She calls foul and cries like a toddler. She's made of stickum, that Paris.

I think they should be harsher in the sentencing of this type of thing as well, but not for the reasons you've given. Blind justice is important in that we don't convict someone or give a sentence because of who we are, or whether we like them or not....we give a sentence that fits the crime, YES I believe the 45 days did fit this crime, and it should have stuck from the beginning. But not because I can't stand Paris Hilton, I can't stand her AT ALL, but because it is he right sentence for the crime, when ANYONE is found guilty of it.

Has anyone that has commented so far spent even a week in jail? I think that would be an interesting poll, but of course I don't expect anyone to answer that question.........lol

Sick

My friend's brother (who works with [Sheriff Lee] Baca's assistant sheriffs) told me that Paris was released due to a severe, "stress-induced" herpes outbreak. He also said that he heard that the blisters had apparently spread to her anus and had taken on abcess-like features that required more serious medical attention. Thus, after taking into account jail overcrowding, the increasing liability that Paris presents, and Paris's lesions, all things weighed in favor of her being put on home confinement.

I seriously hope that's not true. That's a disgusting mental imagine, even ofr Paris.

That's not exactly accurate. We do impose penalty because of "who" someone is, ID: Hate crimes. What we need to avoid is punishing because of WHAT someone is; black, white, gay, straight, jewish, islamic.

and as to spent a week in jail, I work in a prison, is that good enough to levy an opinion?

any comments that seem bitter in this reply were made in levity, not sarcasm... I like disclaimers.

I am a jailer at a small town pd, I think she needs to be taught a lesson, but I am not sure how much time she should do.

so the reason she didnt cry like that the first time was that i guess she knew that she will be out in 3 days.

what do you think?

Well, there's a shock jock here in Vegas who wanted her to have herpes, to see how she 'rises above it' as she's claimed to rise above 'false interpretations' before. Guess he got what he wanted, if this is true.

It's illegal for the judge to make an example out of somebody, and it's unfair to the person to get a harsher sentence just because they are famous.

and practically nobody looks up to her.

MOst people get a week in jail for what she did. I think a week isn't enough time for that crime, howoever, untill the law is changed, she should be getting the same sentence everybody else gets.

She shouldn't be getting special treatment though, and she is totally overreacting.

This is Paris Hilton we're talking about, Spidey Bite. The ***** needed a wake up call.

Well, he's right though. Now instead of serving her full 45 day period, she's gotta suffer....oh wait.

yes she did. and she got one. I also think that giving her the same sentence he would have given anybody would have given her that wake up call. She's spoiled rotten. A week in jail, just like anybody else would have gotten, would have given her a dose of reality.

I'm not saying a week in jail is the appropiate sentence, but that's what people get for it.

And solitary confinement is a lot harsher than normal jail.
