Based on The Batman, no. But it depends on the villain. You can do fantastical takes on Riddler, Penguin, Selina, sure, but I think we'd have to see how/if Reeves tackled someone like, say, Poison Ivy or Man-Bat or Freeze. Even with Nolan, he kept Scarecrow pretty grounded and the most we'd gotten to him being comic book-y was the end of Begins when we saw him on that fire-breathing horse (which, side-note, I wish we got more of that Scarecrow going forward instead of a few seconds).Does anyone have any doubts about Matt Reeves grounded version of Gotham’s villains? I just think Reeves is Nolan on steroids when it comes to the Batman saga.
I doubt Reeves does Freeze, Ivey or Clayface. Then again his take on Joker seems to be fantasy as the guy has some kind of skin issue. Scarecrow could work in either vision. Loved him in Batman begins.Based on The Batman, no. But it depends on the villain. The Penguin feels closer to a prestige crime drama, a la The Wire, rather than something out of Gotham City.
Discussing Film is only partially correct. As mentioned before, they simply shortened the character's surname to Cobb. Although he also goes by the nickname "Oz"—and we already know this from the movie—his first name is still Oswald. He's listed as Oswald Cobb on the official press release, and Didi O'Connell, who plays his mom on the show, refers to him as Oswald in the official trailer.Yes. Cause Oz Cobb is a much more grounded name lol
Yeah for me it’s not a big deal but for some reason Oswald Cobblepot rolls off the tongue better than Oswald Cobb.Discussing Film is only partially correct. It's not a big deal. From a technical standpoint, Cobb is a far more common surname than Cobblepott. I'm sure that at least some of you have heard of the famous baseball player, Ty Cobb. You'd be hard-pressed to come across any real-life Cobblepotts, though. lol

True.I guess because we are just used to the former more?
