I personally like flowers, landscapes and animals more then I like most people, so I tend to take pictures of those things that I like. I agree that people are more powerful subjects. But I'm not trying to make a statement or anything like that. I just want something pretty and colourful and aesthetically pleasing that I can frame and hang on my wall.

Also, I have 2 acres in my backyard of flowers & animals, not 2 acres of people so accessibility has something to do with it as well.

You got a street full of people just outside your door, you got a family, friends. What do you want a person shop?

Or go budget and advertise in the hottest hypster threads :woot:

the girls will never agree to it, they are too hot and classy to be "budget models"
they could make millions! :D

mm classy.

"I like to plaster on loads of make up and get half naked and take pictures of myself and then post them on the internet so that boys who have never had any female interaction in their lives can slobber over like pigs and then have a bash" :)

i'd love to get into studio photography there just too many factors that cause problems unless you work for a studio

I think it's a little weird to just walk up to a person and say "hey can I take your picture" even if I know them. I'm not going to do it, because I wouldn't want someone to do it to me. What it boils down to is that I like what I do, and if I did it differently it wouldn't be as special to me.

Who says you have to ask them? A large majority of my work was just taken out in the street. Plus Ask people you're very close to to pose for you first and then when you get a good shot or two show them to your next subject and they'll feel more comfortable knowing that you know what you're doing.

But if you're not willing to experiment thats fine, if crouching over plants with a camera is what you're into who am i to judge.

nah its just something i enjoyed while doing my photography degree, the majority of my work is based on not including people in my photos( not sure if you've seen my stuff its on my dev art link in my sig)

i did a studio module on a course a good 5 years ago and enjoyed it, but its quite a complex thing with the whole idea of the rights of the image and how it can be disturbed. ie if do a shoot with a model i have to get his/her permission to use the images in my portfolio and/or any thing outside the original intent of the shoot

i need to find a host for my site, its been down too long, but getting a cheap and decent host and domain is a real *****

you have dev art, wtf
now wacha think about my pics!

yes i have dev art but i cant reall put a website with the name the ultimate evil on resumes and business cards

you have some great photos, an excellent grasp on composition and the use of light is very well done

trust me its stopped a few people fro using my work, it would be easier is i just use my real name as a domain, you type it into google and my old site is the first thing that comes up so its known

meh, i used my name because it sounds more profesional, and today i got my first wedding gig for it! hurray! :D

good luck man weddings can be one of the most stressful job there is for a photographer

That little girl with the baloon is great

Models are overrated, you dont need permision from your friends and family. :yay:

This is all stuff I did on assignment. Bear in mind I'm not a professional photographer, I'm a journalist. So I have a ways to go. But I try.

The following are all pictures from a period of MOUT training conducted a while ago.

And these are from another unrelated training exercise. Also, my first assignment, and the lens was really dirty, as you can tell.

These are all raw images, aside from cropping some, I don't think I tweaked them at all in Photoshop.
