While I enjoyed the first season of Agents Of SHIELD, I thought there were some aspects that didn't quite mesh.

I thought I would make a thread highlighting some things that I thought were either inconsistent, unexplained or did not fit right from a logical perspective. And who knows, maybe through discussion, we could gain a better understanding of plot-points that some of us might have missed.

Let me kick things off with this one: Why did Garrett order Deathlock to kill the Cybertek folks who sold him the Deathlok mechanical leg in the TRACKS episode? Retroactively, this doesn't make too much sense to me. In the finale, Cybertek was shown to be basically part of Garrett's "team". What was the point of killing the Cybertek folks?

Has anyone else noticed any other plot inconsistencies and want to discuss them?

At that point I assumed Cybertek's links to Garrett and the Clairvoyant wasn't understood so since Quinn knew Coulson and his team were on their way the Cybertek suppliers were eliminated to make it look like they were rogue operatives supplying Quinn and not Cybertek specifically.

Plausible deniability I suppose.

Have yet to watch the last few episodes so don't know much about the Cybertek end but I assumed from that clip the incentives were those with eye implants so had no choice about working there since they either agreed or died...

Correct me if I'm wrong about that please!

I assumed the Clairvoyant was Nash and was so named because of Edison Po who was used as a contact between Centipede and him until Po presumably became a liability but has it been confirmed that he's actually dead and not been moved somewhere so he can recover and operate unseen say recovering Nash's body?

Considering the ending twist mentioned who identified the bloody hand man as Skye's parent?

My reaction was that he'll seek out Skye for the serum so he can get himself healed but as i said I haven't seen those episodes yet...

Holy crap.
That's brilliant. I love you, man! :word::hrt:
Seriously....perfect analysis. I think you've got Season 2 pegged.

No, they nail it down in the last few eps that it is and has always been Garrett :yay:

one of the Plot holes, Imho, are the Centipede Soldiers. Super Soldier: slow, weak, easely knokable. Why the Army and the Marines should pay so much money for this dorks?

I think it was said that the Centipede soldiers consumed energy too fast; thats why they were getting upgraded using Deathlok technology

Ok but..they are not performing at all: Slow enough and weak enough to lose with Ward and May with one punch? That's ridicolous...

The biggest plothole of the finale was the military helping Coulson out at Cybertech and not questioning him / bringing him in for assaulting Talbot in Providence. So disappointing. The entire "win" of the episode was based on it.

I agree that the Centipede soldiers were a weak element of this series. Despite their alleged enhanced capabilities, they were the usual cannon fodder like Star Wars storm troopers. Given that a lot or all of them appeared to be ex-military, they actually should have been only a notch down from the Winter Soldier or someone equivalent.

The whole scene where they turned on the military was ill-conceived. The idea that the government would just accept that from Hill and Coulson is just absurd. Then again, we're talking about a show where a hacker was able to repeatedly give away SHIELD secrets and not be killed...and another agent was able to shoot a superior officer with an icer in the Hub during an attempt to hack into secret files, which resulted in zero repercussions from the organization...so assault is not considered a bit deal.

From what I've seen Garrett and Cybertek had a showing of their new Deathlok system and Coulson interrupts the meeting leading to Garrett killing one of the Generals present.

I assumed those troops are linked to those military officers' attending the showing with Coulson and his team coordinating thanks to Fury's presence so they're not arrested and held for questioning.

Still doesn't explain how Garrett got out of that body bag or whatever it was and returned to that lab still the payoff was funny!:cwink:

it looks as if he took some time to recover, opened his box, killed one of the guards, and then tried to get on his dentist's table

These things happen in the comics all the time.. no need to look at everything with a magnifying glass..

Lots of things happen in the comics all the time that shouldn't be happening.
