They left Ward in the brig with the door open - I thought he hijacked the bus to start with

Ok ok. That's silly to leave the brig door open.

I thought though that someone like Jemma hijacked the bus. She was the only one not accounted for. And she would've been the least likely suspect.

I'm guessing it was hijacked by remote control via Victoria Hand then?

Unless Ward did still fly it.

Judging by the final scene, yes, Hand took remote control of it. Presumably with a view to capturing them [blackout]whether or not that's related to the Triskelion happenings remains to be seen![/blackout]

Jemma was still at The Hub (she wasn't on the plane) - remember, she was on the line with Fitz when he noticed the initial modification to the comm system and then we hear her say that something is happening and agents are running down the hallways (Fitz then goes up to the cockpit to try and figure out what's going on with the modified comm line and finds May's receiver in that cabinet)

This is what I assumed.

Did she say people were running in the corridors? [blackout]I guess HYDRA's takeover was intended to be absolute at all SHIELD installations[/blackout]

Ok thanks. I couldn't remember where she was.

I wonder if the agents running down the hallways has anything to do with the events of CA:TWS.

Where exactly is the Hub located anyway? They should've referenced that in Cap 2.

Was that also supposed to be a SHIELD helicarrier at the beginning of the episode when the bus landed? It somehow looked less impressive here than in the movies.

Gemma did say something was going down there just before they were cut off.

What exactly is the difference between the Hub and the Triskelion anyway...?

Is the Hub some kind of training facility whereas the Triskelion is like the big SHIELD headquarters in Washington DC?

I don't know where the Hub is located though. Is it in DC as well?

We don't know, when they go to it in the episode 'The Hub' (ep. 7) it simply says:
The Hub
Location: CLASSIFIED

I don't think we've ever even seen the outside of it - so don't even know what type of geography it's in (city, middle of nowhere, mountains, who knows). With it being called "The Hub" that brings to mind being something that's 'central' so I could see it being somewhere in the middle of the country. That's just speculation on my part though.

I think it was just meant to be a regular aircraft carrier, not a helicarrier (at least, that's what I took it as)

Again, this is just my own personal speculation, I don't think the Hub is a training facility (I mean, that's more what the Academy is I think). I think it's probably more like the Triskelion is the main SHIELD headquarters in DC and then the Hub is "somewhere else" (like I said in my other post, the name makes me think o something central, so possibly somewhere in the mid U.S.) and maybe more akin more to like...a regional field office (is that even a thing)?

So the Triskelion is the face of SHIELD, while the Hub is covert ops?

Didn't FitzSimmons do a lecture at the Hub (the episode with the Blizzard)? Or was that somewhere else? If it were the Hub, then that makes it almost seem like an academy of sorts.

No. The Hub is where Simmons shot Sitwell. It's a base of operations for SHIELD.

That was the science academy (whose name I've completely forgotten...)

I was thinking there are many "Hubs" of Shield. Similar to any military or even the airline industry where Hubs are secondary focal points, under the main base. For example, Delta airline's main base is Atlanta, but it has hubs in Orlando and Dallas, and one or two other cities.

If there are many "hubs" then wouldn't they just call it "a hub" and not "the Hub"?

not necessarily... if there is only one hub per geographic location, then each one is the "the hub" of that area. Again, going back to the Delta example, if they are flying into texas, and one pilot asks, "which airport", the response of "the hub" is appriopriate.

I think there's probably only one - you've got the Triskelion as your public face, and The Hub as your covert face

Imagine Jemma or Fitz going from a nerdy bumbling personality to a complete 180 and suddenly becoming this cold and confident agent with fighting skills.

A FitzSimmons heel turn would be a great swerve. Come to think of it, Jemma has been working awfully hard on Skye's bloodwork, trying to figure out the magic alien juice...

I think FitzSimmons have been getting more and more serious as the season has progressed especially as of late. Very welcome too.
