TRUMP'S BACK AS "ROMNEY'S CLOONEY" AND THEN DOUBLES DOWN ON OBAMA BEING BORN IN KENYA

If Romney wants to be closely associated to Trump, I say, "Go for it!" Mitt's lucky this broke on a Friday, but hopefully the Donald will spew more crap next week. Just remind independents what is on the mind of a lot of the Republican base and create a wedge issue solely to hurt themselves. Mitt's people are probably telling Trump to shut up and hope this dies down by Monday, but one can hope.
Still, to think Trump is trying to use this to not help Romney, but garner attention for himself and try to compare himself to George Clooney is hilarious.
Le sigh. While I don't see the Democrats trying to paint Romney as a birther to be a successful tactic, this is just some stupid bullcrap that Romney doesn't need that he could have easily avoided.
The more people on the far right fringe that Romney just sits there and says nothing about makes him look like he has no backbone basically.
The only people who care are birthers or people who are nuthugging Obama. The ones in the middle don't give a damn. Everyone can tell Romney doesn't believe it and is ****ing out to get a vote/demographic. Something he has done ALL the time. Hence the joke, Romney will be anything you want him to be: a midget, NBA player, butch lesbian, lumberjack badass... whatever the hell you want him to be. Romney's plastic insincerity might actually work in his favor this time.
I think you overestimate how much it will matter. Like Dox said, the only ones who care are Obama's most adamant defenders and birthers. Hell, if the polls are any indication (two polls released today showing a dead heat) this is having absolutely no effect.
Yeah but it's just what the GOP wants in a candidate, Someone they can control, Someone who will say and do anything they want as long as they back him.Do I think independents will vote against Romney on the birther issue? Nope. That's ridiculous. But this feeds into narrative and perception. And that narrative perception is that Romney is weak, spineless and will say anything to be elected.
That's not a good perception to have going into an election.

Kinda like the last Republican they had in the White House and we all know how well that worked out for the country.![]()
Where in the hell did I say anything like that? Show me because I don't remember saying anything of the sort.I think that you see what you want to see and like many of these artificial issues that present themselves before the conventions (before campaigns really kick into high gear) it will be forgotten and really have no effect.
Is amuses me that you think that the Democratic Party is so much more pure when Obama barely hides the hand of corporate America shoved up his ass.
Well can you think of a single time Romney has shown a spine and stood up to his base on anything?
