This review made me laugh. It's from the New York Observer: ( I added the spoiler tag, because it's somewhat spoilerish, but I forgot to put them in when I posted it)

SNIP

How does this guy have a job still?
Did he really see the movie? He got a lot of things wrong.

He sure did. Which still makes me wonder why the people at the new york observer would let him post that crap.

/\ Yeah, Prestige & Flag of our Fathers both dramatically went up in RT score today. :yay: Both from a low to mid 50s to a mid to high 70s.

Going to see Prestige after my last class today, can't wait.... first movie I've actually been able to stay away from the spoilers for.... can't wait to see the cinematic "magic trick".

Im with you this movie is going to rock today.

77%, muuuuch better then it was doing. I'll probably never get around to seeing it though, I still haven't seen The Departed. :O

Prestige should more than likely be #1 this weekend, mostly due to the Batman Begins advertising and people looking at it as a somewhat sci-fi thriller type thing in the Victorian age as well. Hopefully it has decent word of mouth.

I think the WB has another "sleeper hit" on it's hands. :yay:

WB- The Departed

WB- The Prestige

And, I think, Flags of our Fathers-is also a WB film.

I think that the departed will be number one again and that Flags of our Fathers will be ahead of the prestige. The Prestige does look great though.

78% - Great.

I think The Prestige will be #1 and FOOF will get #2. What about The Departed, I'd say #3.

The Prestige will most likely make more than $20m.

CS have posted their full review - http://www.comingsoon.net/news/reviewsnews.php?id=17104

The same did LR - http://latinoreview.com/filmreview.php?id=134

And another 2 (one positive and another one negative) reviews from AICN - http://www.aintitcool.com/node/30456

The only thing which made me confused was opinion of MiraJeff. He (or she) says that all these mind games with audience are pointless in the movie.

But how can he (or she) say this, if mind games are put in movies, because they always make sense in storylines.

Batman kicked Wolverine's ass.

Enough said. lol.

MiraJeff doesn't say the twists are pointless, instead says:
To say anymore about the plot or its twists and turns would be to ruin the fun, and make no mistake, The Prestige is a fun movie. It is utterly engaging and sophisticated throughout, it just doesn't add up to all that much in the end. Or perhaps it adds up to too much. I can’t make up my mind, but either way, it feels overheated.
The twist are necessary to this movie, they are the Prestige, when you see the magic trick completed.

I have feeling The Prestige will make $6m opening day with $17m opening weekend

Did you change the crystal ball? The other one wasn't working that well.
How much did you predict "Superman returns" was going to make?

Maybe I missed something, but...
The Prestige is ceaselessly entertaining but ultimately pointless because of the head games it plays with its audience

What's this?

He said this movie is pointless, because of it's head games with the audience.

And as I think he is wrong, because movies like The Prestige (or for example Memento) are twist-films, which use mind games with people to show something new.

That is usual structure of films like The Prestige. These movies are done to confuse and show something special (and unpredictable) to public.

Yeah, I changed it. I am started thinking very realistic and I am also trying to make my predictions sound very believable.

I predicted it something between $300 and $350m. But I was right with Cars and X3.

This was a great movie. The film I've enjoyed most this year.

Dude this ****ing rocked just got back from the movies. Loved it worth seeing again.

Loved it, easy to follow- for me at least, but the only that REALLY got to me....

What the heck is up with Angrier being in the tank again at the ending?

That was the Angier that was on stage minutes before . Each time the trick is performed the old Angier dies and the "new "Angier is the prestige the audience sees . Like the hats at Tesla's lab .In the book all the dead Angier iare in the morge of his home

Haha , I enjoyed that .

I loved it, very brilliant movie . The movie is nothing like the book but it uses the best ideas from the book and the Nolan brothers made it their own. Sure I figured the twist but it didn't make the ending unenjoyable I was satisfied with it .The actors were all great.I want to see Christian Bale do a comedy he is hilarious when he is acting outlandish . David Bowie completly owned any scene he was in .I don't know if it will get any major awards but it definatly will get some technical artisitic nominations , hopefully. It is really great to be suprised without there being a lot of overt CGI effects this is a great fun movie .This is second favorite this year behind The Departed .I give it a 9/10 go see it .
